Not used to these temperatures yet, so an after-dinner evening/night ride was the ticket.

We made it to the top just barely in time for the sunset and sat for a while enjoying the breeze.

Still pleased with the Outbound lights, but out in the open I wouldn’t mind some more punch than the original Trail light gives.

We had the place to ourselves.

Bumping this up to point you all to the current MPC in the photo/video forum. Go have a gander and post up some shots of your favourite trails.

Got to go check out the new bike park being built in Lakeside (Montana) - Legacy Bike Park. It's gonna be rad up there. So far there's 5 trails in the works (the trails are ~70% done), all shuttle accessed. Three jump trails (blu-ish, black-ish, and a strong double black), one tech trail, and one cruisy bermy trail. The two smaller jump trails are fun and pretty friendly. The big jump trail is rowdy, with lots of hips and off-angle features, some of which are pretty damn big. Trails should be done in the next month - opening day is slated for July 15.

They have camping on site. Longer term plan is to have a bunch more trails as well as a climbing trail for non-shuttled riding. I think the plan is that if you paid to camp there, you could ride as much pedal-access as you wanted. Sounds like they're building a bunch of fun stuff at the campground too (pump track, mulch jump, etc.).

Ive got a friend who lives up that way that recently got broken off pretty bad on some new jumps, bad enough to have to get flown to Seattle. Wonder if it was those, I haven’t gotten much details from him yet. Sounds like a cool zone though.

    Jason?

(I haven't heard of anyone getting broken on the lakeside jumps. They're not open to the public yet, so just friends and employees up there at the moment).

Been following along on the 'gram, looks rad!

I'm sold on camping+an uphill trail. And really sold on camping next to a mulch jump. Guess I'll have to get up north next spring.

Yeah, I was the one he was following when he crashed. Super shitty situation. I'm still not sure what went wrong - he's a really good rider.

We were on Spooky Pete's at Spencer, near whitefish. There's a jump with 2 lips. He'd hit the short side a bunch, but never hit the long side. He followed me in and somehow got bucked. I didn't see it since he was right behind me, but sounds like he got thrown over the front and hit the ground hard.

Crazy! Thanks for filling in some of the info. Sounds like he's doing well all things considered but has a long recovery in front of him. I was surprised to hear it because he's really talented but also always very smooth and calculated on jumps.

Yeah, I still don't get how he crashed - he's usually so dialed and analytical. He'd taken a run in before he hit it, and seemed like he was good to go. But something obviously went wrong. I guess sometimes things just get weird, and it's tough to predict that. Hopefully his recovery goes smoothly - seems like it'll be a long process, but at least he'll be good about doing his PT!

Sometimes you just blow it (BT; DT). Bucked and thrown over the front is how I spent a year in head injury suckitude. It's hard to watch people crash that way now.
