There's lots of ruins out there that I didn't get to since daylight was fading. Super scenic for sure. The actual riding isn't amazing, but totally decent desert XC with solid techy challenges and some fun descending sections. Definitely worth checking out.

Stopped in Moab on the way home yesterday.

It was a good time for sure. I didn't know the trail system existed prior to everything else so that may explain things like greens that are only accessible via blacks and blues. The place is pretty built up; kind of an outdoor-activity-themed amusement park. Which is not to say it's bad because there's a ton of fun stuff to do.

Casual Dry Creek lap over to I Street to meet up with Dan and Sam and a gaggle of groms. Shredtown over there today

That was pretty much my reaction too. Especially since he sent it about 10ft long.

Everytime you post a pic like that, I do a mental rescaling of body size to jump size.

    That kid's going to rampage.

That's pretty awesome for a 7 year old. I would be 75% stoked and 25% scared.

Yeah, proportionally it's like an adult hitting a jump twice the size. You should see what some of the local kids here are up to. There's a 10 y.o who sent Crabapple Hits this summer (search for fred_romeo on IG). A couple kids in that group shot were doing full clap-behind-the-back suicide no-handers on the big step up at the old rampage site two weeks ago.

Part of me is definitely scared by it. When he started sending some of this stuff earlier in the year I realized he had crossed a threshold--if things go sideways now we're probably going to end up in the hospital. Telling him he can't do it doesn't seem like the right move either, though. I am comforted by the fact the he has a healthy level of fear and he's not reckless about it. When he steps up to something new he's usually been ready for it for awhile.
