Out exploring burned areas again. Fortunately most of the big Sequoias survived

Got drizzled on a bit. Was borderline death mud for a sec.
It’s the trail formerly known as Swerve, now I think it might be Lupine? Usually calling it the cliff trail above Sailing Hawks is good ID.

Ya we thought about calling you but kept wanting to get OUT of the busy-ness of civilization. But we rode Cody, half of that Beartooth Rec Loop (up to north pass), Line Creek from the bottom to the plateau (due to weather), Trespass Creek, and West Pine Creek (Ridge) as the smoke rolled in. Whew I am tired!

Found a couple new to me trails the other day. Granite slabs and steeps, skinnies, and tight singletrack along a stream.

Rode Ely Mtn above Shaver Lake today, damn those trails are fun. Lots of big rock rollers, steeps, and jumps. Hope they can keep building into new zones. So much killer terrain and granite up there!

A few pics from our east of Yellowstone tour:
Home sweet home at a reservoir near the Outlaw trail system near Cody. Worth a spin.
Beartooth Rec loop from Houser Lake trail. Thanks @hick for the tip.
Weather and shuttle issues kept us off the big Line Creek Plateau, so we rode up and back Maurice Creek, which is the bottom 3100' and probably 8 miles. Burly!
After dinking around Red Lodge (great little FS campgrounds), we headed to the Crazies and Trespass Creek. Chunky climb, gorgeous views, and a super-fun descent.
Then we hit West Pine Creek (actually Ridge), which is southwest of Livingston, as the smoke rolled in. Very scenic spot, very far out there.
And finally back home. Views aren't bad here either.

I've been waiting all summer for the late season alpine. Some pics from last weekend.
