    As said above!!! Beautiful shot!

This is part of the old pack mule route into an iron mine. Most of the iron ore that eventually became the Brooklyn bridge came out of here.

It was all just sitting there, getting trashed and fading away until a local land trust got involved. They have managed to preserve some of the historical bits, and allowed some sweet trails to happen.

Only downside is some steep and painful climbing to get to the goods. STIL. Really. You've got to get up the old donkey cart trails first. Not surprisingly, it really on gets local traffic.

But the climbs are pretty, and you are surrounded by a river and farmland.

I need to get some more pics of the old foundry bits. Massive stone block buildings - two smaller and one big are all that is left. Metal bits here and there. The wooden buildings are long gone.

I've half a mind to bring my bouldering stuff out here next time.

I'm usually there solo, but convinced a buddy to come get a tour.

Most of the stone was quarried near here as well. Lots of chunky stuff.

    Fading away.

Happy New Year's Eve from lake havasu.

Anyone ridden down here? GFs parents own a house down here. This is the first time I've brought my bike, shouldn't have waited so long. Seems like there's a nice bike scene growing down here. Tons of trails, kind of fruita'ish riding. Check it out if you're looking for a winter getaway.
