It's been like this here for about 10 days, and it's supposed to be the same, (30s early morning then warming to 60s), for the length of the extended forecast. Just perfect cycling weather.

First ride on the fatbike = fun. I don't see it replacing, but adjunct to, the other bikes.

Will be fun for solo rock crawling, just general screwing around.

Not really a super fast through the gnar chunk bike, or a huck bike - it reminded me very quickly that 4" tires with 8psi are still not 5-7" of suspension.

Anyhow, it was just fun, which is why I ride bikes.

My buddy rode right off the end of it at the Enchilada Enduro a few weeks ago. The finish was a few hundred yards past it, he was shattered, lost track of where he was, found himself beyond the point of no return, and had to send it. He found the bottom of everything. I laughed.

Those words don't belong in the same sentence. I laugh everytime I see someone hit that.

Flattest drop evar! No desire to ever go for that again - so many better options out there!

However, seeing someone roll if was impressive, even if not quite at the tallest/steepest bit.

Its actually easier than you'd think. First year mtn biking I saw the flat landing and said fuck that, but rolled it cuz I was on top and didn't want to turn around and be a total pussy. I wasn't that skilled back then.

Oh, for sure. I've done it since that picture in '06. But I just think rolling it looks/is more impressive than dropping it to flat.
