Did not drop Haflin today, descended First Fork, but this view was dope. Might go for it on Monday.
Props to Tech Tonics for the beta. When a Mag tells you a trail is Boner City you go ride it.
Thank you sir!

Had 40 min of this fine singletrack on a climb today. Need to do the descent someday. It was the pointy part of this profile. 2.5 miles, I think 1400 vert

Into the soup on my way to the ridge of one of the many North Mountain Trails in the area.
Spectacular views up there. Looking East off North Mountain.
Heading South
Passing through the remnants of a fire that burned through here several years ago.
Lotta steep little climbs and cool rocky sections.
Fernie descent
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

This is from the previous weekend, but worth posting. Got out of town and did a couple rides...
Saturday evening - hit up Idyllwild
Nice view of San Jacintos on the climb
Come around a corner to this view, incredible
Awesome sunset....
On Sunday wanted to do some high elevation recon to see how much snow remained. The answer....not much
Snow line across the valley is around 10k. Did a self shuttle, climbed 3k feet to the summit then about 30 mi of singletrack to the end point.
Sugarloaf peak is 9,952 so minimal snow here. A few patches visible on the north side, just 1 patch on the trail. Quite a few hikers headed up there. Summit shot:
Came across this tiny baby rattler. About 8" long but fat, must have just caught its first meal. Shooed it off the trail so it wouldn't get run over.
Miles of singletrack like this, much with greater exposure
Cool section with some cedar trees
And another nice sunset!

Went for a ride yesterday up the mtn to see how the trails were faring. It's amazing how good it feels to see trails you've worked on come out of the snow looking pimp. Last year there was so much snow it took us 3 weeks of work just clearing snow off the trails to get open mid July. Quite a different story this year with the San Juan at about 30 percent of normal snowpack, things are opening up early. First time back on the hill since I busted my arm, felt so good to get back out there, as you can see from pic 3, still a bit of snow out there.
This last picture of this nondescript corner was the scene of the crime. Open compound fracture of radius and ulna last time I was here. Felt so good to cruise by this bitch again.
