Rode Cuyamaca state park today. All the trailheads are closed but trails are open, just park in pullouts along the road. It limits where hikers can start from so there aren't as many of them in some places. It is limiting horse people too. They could park in a pullout but would have no where to turn their rig around. Didn't see any horses.

Started just after sunrise to beat the heat. Started in a cold air drainage and it was chilly til I climbed out of it. Cyanothus is in full bloom everywhere

Climbed all the way to the north end of the park.

Almost stepped on this baby. Maybe 12" long

Like Evdog, I have been taking advantage of the closed parking lots and therefor no horse/hiker traffic on the local State park trails. Was making it a weekly Wednesday ride, but kid broke my toe a few days ago, so not going tomorrow and might go skiing Thursday.

Fun ride today with my daughter who turns 14 tomorrow. Her sister never took to biking but this one loves it.

Not 100% but it's looking good. Plenty of aspects are fully dry in the South Hills. Scratchgravels of course have been dry for weeks. So yeah, come on up and ride.

Agreed. Super green and the grass is extra tall. It's been hot as balls though.

I rode Mini/E today, and they both were completely dry. If they’re dry, the whole South Hills system should be good to go.

I think i am going to have a great relationship with this bike. Did 5 laps of a local trail called 7n, maybe 2k climbing, which is amazing for the new knee. it felt great, and i even did some 'technical' terrain. Pics are useless for tech features without a rider in it, though.

And some pics from the road ride the day before...

Wow, spring is really teeing off around here!

Ducking under downed timber, hike-a-bike through snow patches and stream crossings were the name of the game today!

Plenty of snow on the North facing slopes, but moon dust on the sunny side.
I'm not complaining that I'm able to do a 14.5k (9mile) loop with 500m (1700feet) climb right out my door.

“Relationship” eh? More like fling. I give it a year, tops.

Well, actually, yeah, as I am getting the new 29” Altitude when that comes out next year, but then turning this one into a 140/150 bike. So maybe I’m just a polygamist?
I might just sell this one and get a Slayer 29” as well if there is too much overlap in the quiver.
Hmmmn, some of my most...fulfilling, sweaty, and dangerous...relationships only lasted a year, now that I think about it...

There were about 13 snow flowers in this area today, near Reno. Just a few of them:
