Go forth and ride, then bring back pics

Cool! I smoke bowls sometimes on long rides back there. Nice and private back behind.

Nice. I walked up there with the kiddo last month and looked at that stuff. The gap in the second pic looked sketch.

I didn't hit it with the snow but my buddy said it was really smooth. We found a couple other trails in that same area with some huge gaps.

Rented a DH bike at Fuji Panorama resort, I haven't ridden a DH bike in years. DH bike make you go crazy fast, me like it! 2500 vert, trails were not bad and fun for one day max, had some chunk, some flow, no jumps though. Maybe some of the many closed trails had jumps, I dunno. Glad I had a DH bike for it, definitely needed one surprisingly. Had some dorky-dad trail running shoes that sucked, but shop worker was surprisingly tall and gave me his shoes to borrow, that made it go from sketch to fun. It was like wearing climbing shoes, they were so small, and I broke my toe earlier in the trip in a Tokyo bathroom which hurt more with the shoes but thank you nice shop guy!!!!

    Almost a week old now.

Where is snow/mud line in Leavenworth area? Will Xanadu be dry this weekend? What about climbing in Icicle Creek?

Kootenays are great right now. Fall colors, nice cool temperatures and most of note perfect soil after consistent rains. Moist but not muddy.

Closed the climbing season on the Aquarius plateau this weekend and squeezed in a couple rides around Bryce.

Colors were all times on the way to Powell Point. I think it's on par with Dead Horse point as far as views go but Powell has a grove of bristlecones which obviously makes it better:

I also rode the classic Thunder Mountain, it's dry and loose as fuck right now but the scenery is so rad I'd do laps on it if I could. Linked it with Losee/Cassidy for an all-time day. Even the train of 40 horses and their idiot riders couldn't wipe the grin off my face:

Boissal - in your opinion, if someone was visiting Moab and had extra time can I assume Thunder Mountain and co. would be worth the drive out, night at a cheap motel and drive back?

Truth. Hitting the high country tomorrow for what I expect is the last hurrah 'round these parts...

I'd say the riding is worth it but the drive is significant, almost 4 hours, gotta cross the whole state W to E. If you're in Moab there's a lifetime worth of great riding to do without driving in a relatively similar style and scenery.
