Yeah. I'm up there kind of a lot.

Just got home from an epic trip to Tahoe for 2 days of riding, hit some amazing stuff (Hong Kong, Big Chief, Tyrolean, then some stuff I don't want to talk about on Martis![]()
Rode through snow, primo dirt, legit rock drops, flowy singletrack. Such a blast!
**attached a bunch more pictures but they all keep showing upside down...doh!**

yessir. Nice shots
Yeah, that is a fun one. Only issue is you either ride up the trail, which is fine in the early morning when no one is coming down, or you ride a forever fire road, which is also how you have to access the upper sections of the trail. And that is the case of about 98% of the trails around here. Stupid fire road grind up to fun singletrack down. Thing is, I hate fire roads, reminds me too much of road riding.
I hear you on the long road climbs. I did a bunch of exploring in that area the last couple summers. When I rode 007 I self shuttled to the top and did the Shuteye peak loop, then dropped 007. It had a lot of shitty moto climbing for what I expected to be a fast descent. I think I was there soon after those massive ruts formed. The bottom section or two were in terrible shape.
I saw a lot of moto trails off some of the main roads higher up. Have you ever explored those?
Like a lot of the west side of the Sierras there is a ton of potential but not enough MTBers who live nearby to build some nice trails.
