STEEP
This has got to be one of the BEST flicks that I have ever seen. It is easily the best done ski documentary that I have seen.

Can't wait to see it.
I knew it was going to be quite well done, considering the budget and production crew.

Any news on when and where they will be screening it or when it is available for purchase?

seems weird there hasn't been more news floating around about this movie, since it was screened at the Tribeca film festival back in the spring. It was REALLY well done. Really chilling to hear some of the things Coombs says early on in the film. Will be a definite addition to my ski movie library when it's available to buy.
There was a great interview with Kayce Jennings and the other producer on the website, i highly recommend checking that out as well. It will seem suspect to all you "core" skiers out there to think that a movie made by a well to do news anchor would do justice to big mountain skiing, but after the interview i think you may start to feel different, and after watching, i think you'll agree they did their homework.
to quote someone else halfway through the movie "holy shit, this is the BEST ski movie i have ever seen"

Looks like it should be pretty cool. Anyone know of when a mass release may occur?

as someone not really into ski movies, this is the one ski film that i'm actually looking forward to. seems like right now would be the kill time to release it w/ the anticipation of the season just around the corner. sadly, i'd imagine most folks won't get to see it till its released in dvd.

I saw one of the showings at the Tribeca Film Festival in NYC. It took an amazing look at pushing the limits of big mountain skiing. Sobering to hear almost every skier in the documentary acknowledge the risks and potential dangers. I don't think most of the audience I saw this with new about Doug Coombs because they were all gasping when the film mentioned his death shortly after filming. Best ski movie of its kind. Will def. pick up a copy when it hits DVD.

Remembering this thread I put on The Continuum when Ole, my 6-year old son, wanted to watch a ski movie tonight, since Doug Coombs has the last 10 minutes or so of that movie. We watched that part, then rewound the movie to the beginning to start watching it from there. After 10 or 15 minutes, Ole says: Is Doug Coombs dead? I was totally floored and realized he probably remembered me saying that after the tgr movie last year when they had that same coombs clip at the end of the movie.
You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.
