In VT all the ride are warm and fuzzy!

The ride to LTB is about 17 miles one way from Sprites house. How long of a ride are you thinking? Ultimately, around here you can make the rides as long as you want....

For everyone else - I checked Killington's website and they are NOT open for lift serviced mountain biking the weekend of the party. The lifts close this Monday 10/8. The trail systems will still be able to be ridden, but not via a lift (which is fine by me). Also, the Killington Bike Rental shop will be closed but True Wheels Bike Shop http://www.truewheels.com/Rentals.htm will still have bikes for rent.

We still have the option of people renting bikes, and the riding at a place in Reading/Plymouth about 6 miles from Sprites house. It is a 12 mile mtn. bike loop. Nothing to gnar, but still fun.

    Any thoughts?

I like this, but it sounds like we could have two groups doing whatever they please, road or Mt.

Yeah, we may have to send out two different group rides. No biggie. Bluebird and I could split up if needed and each take a group b/c we are really familiar with the area. But really, riding on the road it isn't too hard to figure out where you are and where you need to go.

**We need to start making a decision on what type of bike ride we will be taking that weekend**

If we mountain bike, some people will need to rent. It may be the same for road biking, or we may lose some people who wanted to mountain bike. I am game for either road or mountain biking so Bluebird and I will do whatever everyone else wants to do. Seeing as I can't figure out how to post a poll thread, let's just do it here.

No, we are south of Killington and don't get up to those shops very often. I wouldn't mind running shuttles with my truck though.

Is there anywhere to stay Friday night so I don't have to leave at 4am? Not that it can't be done, but driving + riding=not enough drinking before feeling sleepy.

Bring a sleeping bag dood and crash on the couch or any available bed at chez Sprite.

You guys are gonna have to duke it out over the beds b/c I think officially we sleep 12. There's a lotta floor space though. And a chicken coop out back (I'm not kidding)

Oh, this is gonna be fun!!

    I should still be down
however this bike ride sounds like fun, but not only do I not have a bike. My current one really isnt rideable, but im in no shape to do 70 miles, i think 10 miles would put me in a coma.
soul, jtran, phall, Im in on the road trip, whose driving? whose got room?
are we crashing there or coming back sat night?

I'm pretty sure beandip was joking (I hope?) 10-20 seems reasonable. Closer to 10 would make it easier to get up the next morning though.

Samurai, we may have an extra mtn bike around that you can ride. Or we can scare up an extra road bike. How tall are you?

Also, I think Train07 may have an extra road bike you can ask to borrow...last I checked I think he only requires indentured servitude for a period of 3 years plus your right kidney for that privilege.
