That sounds about right. While I can't vouch for ID roads, the highway from Idaho Falls to West Yellowstone and then on to Big Sky/Bozeman is a major thoroughfare - it gets plowed and sanded regularly. Lots and lots of truck traffic.
It isn't impassable by any means whatsoever, but do take it easy. Several fatal car accidents in that canyon...just be mellow. Speeding on icy twisty roads with all sorts of truck traffic = a bad idea. Amazing some people can't get that (myself included at times!).Last edited by Jumper Bones; 09-14-2007 at 03:35 AM.

Wow, $405 including taxes and fees from Philly to Bozeman...I probably have to book it now while I'm looking at it though. Seems like closer to $500 is the average.

Hey airfare folks, possibly look into Idaho Falls as well. There's still a decent drive involved (about 3 hours I think), but that's an alternative to Montana destinations...if that's what's driving the prices up. And it's the same drive as it is from Missoula, or a little more than Billings.

Hmm, that lines up pretty damn well with my spring break this year. . .

I had to go to the local agricultural supply store.

College students might be able to get some cheap tickets $35 if they purchase a Frequent Sky Card. I am not sure if this is just for MSU students or anybody with a valid student ID. Might be worth a call to the ticket office.
