Looking forward to seeing that ^^^ come together.
My dad came over this weekend and we built this little trellis I had drawn up and replaced the skirting on the deck. Next project will be to stain the deck and repaint the railing.
Apparently kiwis will grow in central WA, so we're going to give it a shot... We've had that one in the ground for over a month now and it's looking pretty happy.

That's quite the tile design!
Here's some more from the MCM house. 12' ceilings gave plenty of room to work with. The skinny maple strips beside the fireplace have a blue background as well. It was a bitch to get them straight and solidly connected to the 1/8 MDF backing without a lot of face nailing. The blue behind the shelves is an embossed wallpaper that we painted.ride bikes, climb, ski, travel, cook, work to fund former, repeat.

Finally. After 8 weeks which were supposed to be " few days"( well we've only spent 6 or 7 work days on it, but finding them with all the rain and two little kids was a challenge).
I've Finished the deck. And yes technically the hands of my fil and my wife helped, but I'll post it anyway.
Editt: and in case you were wondering: our communist leaders only allow us 25m˛ backyards.

Thanks.
it would have been a lot shorter if it had just been the deck, but we had to do the whole underconstruction as well because it was rotten. And oiling the wood also took a lot of time. It's a war of the mind and we're armed to the teeth.

Also interested in this and the “configuration” of the deck boards. What size boards are those? Lastly, you mentioned oiling the deck, did you oil before installing?
Curious as I just got 1500 linear feet of mahogany (red balau) decking delivered this AM. Once that is installed, I’ll then get the second 1500 ft delivered.Because rich has nothing to do with money.

Bangkirai. Fsc certified So Hopefully I didn't kill too many orang utans.
I bought "organic bankirai oil" which basically means how dark or light the tone is and that you can eat food of it if you put it on tables or chairs. And I oiled top, bottom and sides. I haven't oiled all small pieces' sides after I cut some of them because of the light shafts for the cellar.
I'll probably oil them again ( top obviously... because this thing will stay there forever!)before the winter, but we'll be traveling until late October ( I have 10 days pf school between the summer holidays and my 4 week parental leave so no full traveling...but I guess I'll manage )so I won't enjoy many days on it.
The size is 2.10m ( 7feet) which fits perfectly into our 6.30m backyard without cutting. It's a war of the mind and we're armed to the teeth.

It's like they say: oiling up is half the fun!

Shit you built with your own two hands (picture thread)
Some things I re-built, I like these old lanterns, they are pretty durable and a useful piece of gear for camping, power outages etc...
L to R 1962, 1965, and 1946
Fully functional
1946 200C needed a little TLC, a new pump seal, fresh mantels and fresh fuel
Before the new parts, the old one wasn’t as bright
After the new parts, burns bright no hiccups and holds pressure
Night into day
1946 200c with the Big Hat before repairing“I have a responsibility to not be intimidated and bullied by low life losers who abuse what little power is granted to them as ski patrollers.”

#dreamshack 4th wall
4th wall, the South one, layout and upright.
This one took more time due to the window configuration.

Going to heat it? This is your property right? This for hunting? Just fun for kids? Cool either way.

I had one exactly like the one in the middle, though I would have gotten it fall 1975. pretty sure i got it new. so remember that dial, the pump, buying "coleman fuel" in the red can, trying to tie those damned mantels without ripping them. Thing put out a shit-ton of light.
