Don't ask why but I just watched a bunch of videos on anti-rust products. The CRC 6026 Corrosion Inhibitor looks like good stuff. Does not wash off with water, dries to a hard wax/film, and one can would probably do that whole bike.

Napa Rust Proof M/D is killer stuff too. You have to thin it well. Rust converter/inhibitor with UV topcoat properties. If you want it any color other than grey, gloss black, or white, you will need to topcoat it anyway.

Hardly the level of many here but I suck at building shit..it's level and square despite unlevel walls/floor. Tapconed to wall..3/4" finished ply top. All in about $100. Front legs are pressure treated in the event of any water, it is a garage. 8'wx3'dx38"h.

My first ever house where I have space for a workshop of sorts. I'm psyched. Wife not so much as she knows where I will be a lot. Lol. Also has a fridge w/ beer in garage. Bonus. Click image for larger version.

Level, square and flat is a lot harder to do than pretty. Especially flat. Not that it isn't pretty.

I was very happy. Pretty sure wasn't the goal. Utility and level. Vice in next couple days and maybe a bench grinder.
Once I clear a bit more shit out I can get a chop/mitre saw and that's about the extend of big power tools for me. Anything more I'll just go borrow from bro in law. Hell if I need more I will need him .

Get a quick release vise if it's not more than you want to spend. I have learned the hard way that it's easier to have the vise and factor in mounting it before building a work bench--to avoid having to modify the bench after the fact. Not a big deal though.

And BTW, mounting a big heavy cast iron vise to the underside of a workbench by oneself has a lot of similarities to mounting a disposal.

I don't need anything fancy vice wise and we did consider it when building. I may need to add 1 small piece of 2x4 to make it work. It is nice to have a workspace.
    Thanks for the tips

I think I'm ready to check into this thread. House remodel is complete. We're tired of crappy particle board furniture, but being in CA real wood furniture is stupid expensive because we only grow redwoods and palm trees. So that means it's time to figure it out. How hard can it be?

Step 1: build two rolling workbenches that serve as mobile outfeed tables

Step 2: build a metric fuckton of shelf storage

Step 3: procure a large butcher block. Shape it and round over the edges to create a new desktop to draw up more plans.

Step 4: re-learn how to spray lacquer

Step 5: procure more rough walnut and use that table saw Santa brought to mill it down and create more. I think some photo shelves and bookcases are on deck.

I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

Santa brought you a table saw? He must know what I've been up to, he never brings me anything that good.

My wife has been recovering from meniscus surgery so decided to build a desk. A matching dresser is up next. Top and drawer fronts are blue pine and walls are maple ply.

Santa knows what I get up to if I'm not buried with projects.

Onward and onward. Milled, dado grooved, keyhole routed for wall mounting, dowel joined and sprayed. Photo ledges done. Cross cut sled nearly done and then onto the bookcase

Haters gotta hate, but my lord, we could condense that down to under 2 minutes with even a 125 2 stroke.

I can't image what you are like in bed.

Your drawer organizers are nice but this thing is totally under-engineered and is gonna break and cause an injury. You need some diagonal bracing or it needs to be bolted to the wall.

Skidog---I can see you in 2 weeks posting in the I Love My Wife thread about how your wife is putting the spoons in the fork slots, the knives in the spoon slots, mixing the different size spoons together . . .

But it is very nice work.

It's lagged on both sides thank you and I am 200+ and can barely shake it. Totally rigid. Thanks though.

Was her request so she better not. I don't post in that thread cause I would likely be too poster. I like to read it though.
Thanks I though it turned out ok. Simple craft pine from Lowe's it works excellent
