Nice countertop, I would not dry grind without a good mask though. You could build a screen with hardware cloth sized to get the size of glass pieces you want to use.

Herb garden space. Recycled pallets and rebar and scrounged granite. Had to buy the wire fencing.

Prob incorporate it into the finish landscape so I don't space out and back into the tub. Came off my girlfriends family ranch now abandonded on the WyColo border in the Medicine Bows.

I'm building a hippy shack on the back of an '88 Toyota pickup. It's build almost entirely out of reclaimed materials. Hope to have it done this summer.

It passes my hippy test. I'd love to tour with that thing, albeit the snail's pace it'll have to hold.

Looks awesome. I don't even want to think about trying to get something like that up to code in JP. So, enjoy it like some can't.

Lame, but all made by hand and flat/square within about .002" or better.

Try square, straight edge, and winding sticks.

Yes they are just fancy measuring sticks, but they're my fancy measuring sticks. I wish I would've practiced some of these skills BEFORE I had built the fancy dining room table.

Code isn't the right word, I guess. Shakken. 車検 It doesn't translate well. All vehicles have to be OEM (original or exceeding manufacturer) Kind of like a California smog check on steroids. Also, around 12-15 years the taxes on older cards get so substantial that it's cheaper to buy new (especially once you factor in advancements in fuel economy.) The Gov't forces the public into new cars to "stimulate the economy."

I'm guessing your rig would run an additional 5K in taxes each year. No joke. Only collectors keep projects around. It's a sad state of affairs for me. I built my rig stateside, a '72 Blazer. Grew up wrenching. Tricking out old cars are a hobby I just can't financially justify anymore.

Wanna be my importer stateside for used (yet OEM) JP cars? I have heaps of them. Most go to Australia/NZ/Singapore. (non-horsepower freaks.)

Doing this as a part time thing for a client. Hillside regraded with gravel/sand/topsoil, foundation and framing done professionally. Siding, color, and trim boards. Working on finishing the teak cedar in the eaves. Under the awning will have cedar eaves/teak shakes and lights and on the wall above the flashing in the middle of the windows will have teak stained shakes. grass is about 2-4in tall right now. Next step is building a finished second story room above the carports so the windows that are 18ft up are actually usable

I have a friend stateside with dual citizenship, can he help you import cars into the states? I think the dual status may help.

I once made some Dynafit 6mm gap gauges from the heart wood of a 100 year old black walnut tree. Last I checked they were the now current 5.5mm.

At time of measurement only, more just exciting when putting a machinists straight edge to it.. For practical purposes who cares, but the skill building is nice.

I don't think the dual citizenship makes any difference, but if he's looking for a supplier I can make the link.

This isn't anywhere near as impressive as most of the stuff in this thread but I like the idea of recycling as much stuff as I can and I'm pretty happy with the end result.

Step 1: tear down 60 years old cedar fence

Step 2: sand, sand, sand again then sand some more

    Step 3: stain

Step 4: run to the liquor store, load up the rack, drink half of it away, repeat until the liver complains

Also, this thing has made my winter so much better. It's based on a design discussed on here. The plywood was also part of the fence, used to fix some of the holes.
