Is that the actual total price you paid? Or is that the "price advertised" before all the taxes, fees, etc?

I'd like to hear some prices also as I may send myself to Santiago/ARG for a graduation present this fall - September most likely.

America West has very low frequent flier mileage redemption points to fly into San Jose, Costa Rica -- something like 30,000 miles from the US to CR.

Edit: checked, AWA is now part of US Airways, but award mile redemption seems to be the same.

Ditto x2, but I have to fly AA instead of LAN (no seats on the LAX-SCL flight to/from)

    A) How the heck did you do that and
    B) Why go? There's no skiing! I don't think? (Just kidding, sort of...)

Careful searching for midweek flights on www.1800argentina.com did it for me with LAN airlines. Thanks to whomever it was on the board that suggested that site.

Dumb question maybe... Are these prices return or just getting there? Thinking about planning a trip for next August.

    Connections baby...I've got connections.

Believe it or not there is more to do in SA than ski (NO WAY!) Lima was just my jumping off point for Cuzco, Machu Piccu, Ecuador (Quito, Guyaquil) and the Galapagos Islands.

$544 (inc. taxes) for SFO to EZE on delta courtesy of travelocity about 1.5 months ago. Was hoping cheapest honors would go to me, but KQ seems to have scored the absolute most amazing deal to Peru.
