Is it too early to get excited?

Only two games behind Boston for best record in the AL.... Of course the M's may 'Coug it, and probably will. ('Coug it can apply to any sports team or situation in life, FYI.)

Edit: make that Detroit, not Boston, as of 10 pm.

Go Tigers!! But seatle is looking good. American league dominance. And who would have thought the rockies would be competing?
You should have seen Little Jerry, Jerry! Flappin' his wings and struttin' his stuff! He was peckin' and weavin' and bobbin' and talkin' trash! He didn't even have to touch him! The other rooster ran out of the ring.

I really expected the Mariners to be around a .500 team this year. I just can't see how they can continue to play the way they have. I heard them mention on the radio last night the M's have dominated the AL East this season. After last night's game they are 17-8 against the East!

If the Mariners somehow make the playoffs, and Putz continues to dominate, I think he should be a serious candidate for the Cy Young or MVP. So far he's converted 28 of 28 save opportunities and has given up a whopping 4 ER in 45 innings.

the way the angels ahave been playing recently i'd say you could get excited now. the damn yankees are coming in hot in bostons rear view mirror so even w/ the biggest division lead i'm not excited yet. '78 still lingrs in the memory bank.

jj putz is a freaking baller. unbelievable. he definitely should get mvp consideration if we make the playoffs, even though he is a closer, because the way its shaping up it will be extremely close between the teams and most likely, his lack of blown saves will have made the difference.

i doubt the mariners will slow down, every time someone has been beat down someone has risen to the occasion. we have had 3 starting pitchers out for significant time (hernandez, weaver, and ramirez) and barely skipped a step. our depth is amazing with adam jones and wladimir balentin waiting to get called up. both are freaking amazing but there's just no room on the team to put them. i expect great things.

Here come those loveable M's Cue the Seattle sports team marketing bullshit ie "Sodo Mojo" and the "12th man" ala Seahawks. What will it be this time?

In a way I hope the M's make it deep in the postseason so I can watch some Sox playoff games.

How about "See, it doesn't matter that our $15 million per year first baseman is hitting .200!"

Two HRs (and almost a third by Johjima) in the first inning in Minnie...

I'm digging this team. If Sexon gets hot, look out AL.

Arggh C'mon, man! You're going have to make me inovke the dreaded anti-jinx - right after you started this thread the first time they promptly lost 7 in a row.

Next 17 of 20 on the road and Jeff Weaver is their best SP right now.

    But maybe if....
Move upside and let the man go through...

    C'mon dude, you gotta believe...

This team has the goods on offense and relief pitching. My Raul bobblehead doll just told me so.

I thought this was going to be about skiing. It is too early to get excited....although it is creeping into my mind. I am not going to make it!!! 49 days till the white ribbon of death opens!! I hope we get a storm mid September like we did last year. Even if I have to hike to the top of a 14'er....I just want some turns!!

Side note - does anyone know what jersey this guy is wearing??

It looks like a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey from back in the day.

    Thanks

i know, out of the angels, m's, yanks, and bo sox at least one of them won't make the playoffs for sure. and they are all within four or so games of each other. this is just sick.

    make that 5 games.

the yanks/angels game last night was one of the best baseball games i have seen in quite a while.
