Damn, all mine are inelligible due to time. Sucks for me shooting on slide film, it's usually 6 months till they're digital. Nice shots from everyone else though!

Am I the only one a little turned on from this photo?

All three photos involve Lake Tahoe in some way. The 1st and 3rd are at the lake, and 2nd is of an air tanker getting loaded with retardant for the Angora Fire.

My fireworks photos aren't as good as Junker's, but I'll post them anyway.

I was on a pontoon on the middle of the lake, so these aren't very steady...

Shooting from a moving boat adds another element of motion. After all, that is the theme. I like that you can see the mountains, and sky in your shots (I would shoot at a higher F/stop to increase depth of field though). I think that it makes the photo a little more interesting. Instead of pretty colors in blank space. I wish Tahoe would have set them off in a little more light...

Love the colors in this one. Definitely a nominee, IMO. Who's/what's in the foreground?

Thanks for the comments, Junker and DD. The lights near the bottom are from all the other boats. That thing in the foreground is the pontoon's fish finder - oops, I took a few pics before realizing it was in the way.

The background = trees and clouds pretending to be mountains

These were my first attempt at fireworks photos. Next time I'll have to try it on solid ground, with a smaller aperture & longer exposure.

So cool, in fact, I think I'll attempt to create something similar...at some point in the future.

Edit: cept I would shoot the flash with a Rear-curtain sync.

    For example,

Wow, thanks man, that means a lot coming from the best Nikon man on the board.

It is not eligible, due to timeframe, though. I don't want to cheat.

I found one that fits the category, but unfortunately isn't eligible since it's not within the time frame.

Every photo I take with that camera has that dirty, gritty texture when viewed at full size. It's a Fujifilm 5200 (5.1MP) and I tried turning the ISO dpown to 100 to help reduce the grain effect but to no avail.

    Any tips?

Have you tried shooting in RAW mode to see if the noise is still there?
