Sweet- I have been eying that lens. I shoot with a D200 too. Love it. Just bought Hop's old 80-200 2.8, so I have been having fun with that.

Sigma quality OK? I am always a little sceptical. Looks damn good from where I sit.

Deep Days, shutter was 1/250, aperture was 4.8. Warthog, I have 3 Sigma lenses and the quality on each has been second to none. A lot of people complain of front/back focus issues but I think it's mostly baloney.

    Here are my contenders:
    #1 F9.5, 1/125sec, EV -0.50, ISO100, 70mm

    #2 F13, 1/90sec, EV -0.50, ISO100, 180mm

    #3 F11, 1/90sec, EV -0.50, ISO100, 180mm

All were shot last Sun, @ my hometowns marathon (hopefully will be running a half marathon there next year). Those, who are into running might even know the name, as it carries the name of a legendary runner that wasn't allowed to race in LA Olympics since he had raced (and won) a few races in the USA, thus he was considered a "professional" and wasn't allowed to race. He also held the 10 000m record for 13 years.

I like these two... those colors give them a dream-esque quality. The second one has a painted look as well.

    Tres cool.

Surprisingly little, actually. I don't even own Photoshop.

I spent less than 2 mins on that photo, basically the colors you see are a result of: 1. Thats how it actually looked. 2. A little bit of touching up in Adobe Lightroom. I boosted the contrast up a little bit, as well as toned down the highlights. Those two actions really brought out the clouds.

Other than that, the photo looks pretty much just like it did on the LCD screen of my camera.

Sometimes you get lucky with the lighting!

Great theme, I found it funny because my GF teaches photography and their first assignment is "motion" also.

This definitely got me out shooting.
At least shooting differently than normal.
Most everything came out too blurry.
I was trying slower shutters to capture a "blurry motion" type feel.
    A very good learning experience!

I have two at this moment...

my two favorites are this one and Warthog's dog pic (just adorable and great shot). dipstick, i love the vivid colors and energy in this pic... allez allez allez!! also you could say the church in the background is a metaphor for the racers, their religion is the sport etc.... and i think the shadow a rider makes is pretty neat looking, nice to see that in there.

this contest is really cool. Thanks again brice for setting it up. I took some dumb shots this weekend with my little point and shoot and while i'm so far from being competitive in this it is ridiculous, it was still fun having a direction/creative thing to capture.

    Two from last night:

    Double disc motion:

    Catching Disc Motion:

Both taken with my new 80-200 2.8. Just getting the feel for the lens. It is a tough one at night with moving targets. Did really well in the dusk light though.

Edit: Not sure if the following is an entry or not, as (of course) I'm having technical difficulties and may not be able to view and possibly upload several more potential entries before the deadline. If I can't post before the deadline, consider this entry #2.
