Supposed to be on one trail only......which won't be built until after opening.

The trails/improvements built so far look pretty fun. I'm trying to make them more fun

I'll be there! (walking around the burly sections, avoiding stunts, and braking improperly causing stutter bumps everywhere). I can't wait!

Irrigated? like a sprinkling system to keep the dust down. That half crazy and half genius. Sometimes it's so dusty mid-summer out here that you can barely ride some trails behind someone else without choking. I can't imagine how bad it must get in tahoe.

It's something I've written down on 'visitor comment' cards for years. I'm sure I'm not the only one. The trail they're planning on doing this to has been plotted adjacent to one of the main snowmaking pipelines. It's layout is inimately tied in to where irrigation outlets are convenient. If it works I think it will be badass. You'd never know it but the dirt here packs really well when wet.

.....and don't ever ride behind anyone at northstar

It's spring and it's already like that, at least in NY/North NJ. Hopefully this rain will put a stop to it though.

Good to hear Northstar is opening back up.

Plug for Big Wave Burritos in the N* Village. Nothing to do with them but good food and good beer choices like Fat Tire. And one of the owners drives a VW Thing - he was in the paper yesterday.

Meanwhile the 50/50 Brewery has done a soft opening. But we have a brewery in town again It's on Brockway Road (old-267) just past the roundabout.

Oh. We're getting afternoon T-Storms which are tamping down the dust that seems to develop earlier and earlier each year

So stoked for June 29th (why can't they open earlier though). If I don't end up going to grad school, I will be getting a pass and spending every Saturday there (had one 3 summers ago and it was a blast and definately improved my DH skills - that I've now forgot). Aren't they also adding a whole new lift? I think it's the one that will serve the right side of the mountain so you don't have to do the long traverse to get to boondocks (of course now that will be all rutted like Karpiel).

Will also probably race the 2nd DH on the 29th of July.

Yeh, food was just OK and expensive for the entrees. No local brews served yet - supplied by other breweries hence the 'soft opening'. Good prices on the beer. Spoke to the owners and they're nice (and young) folks.
