    which fork?

I am getting a Reign and I'm looking for a 6" fork.... long story but it's an 05 that is new and I'm getting it 1/2 off... the manitou nixon on it sucks, so I'm getting a deal on a new fork as well (I actually want to ride this thing relatively soon)...

I was thinking the Fox 36 Float... But the Talas has the adjustable travel....

Maybe an All mountain from Marz?

    Thoughts?

I would say 36, Talas if you can afford it, no reason to get the Float if you can. Or get the Van for less XC, more FR riding. Make sure you get the RC2 no matter what. It makes a great fork amazing.
It's heartbreaking to see a chick who's too anorexic.

I have a 36 VAN RC2 and I think it's big titties and beer. I've ridden a friend's 36 FLOAT and it feels good too, not quite as coily smooth as the VAN of course but very good. Haven't ridden the TALAS but I've heard good things.

If you don't need a knockdown feature, the VAN is what I'd suggest.

Also I'd look at the Rock Shox Lyric. I have a Pike on one bike and a Reba on another and I think that RS have their shit together again, and are worth looking at.

Have they worked out the initial hiccups with the Totem and Lyric?
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

The air models, maybe not. The coil models haven't had many hiccups, have they?

I have a friend whose air Lyric has given him some headaches.

I bought a Pike 454 Air U-Turn a month ago and it shit the bed on the first ride. It went back to RS for warranty repair and I got it back on the bike Thursday. Yesterday I did a nice long 4 hr ride on it and it was rippin' good. But it was a headache having to deal with the warranty thing. This makes me wonder about longer travel air forks. At the same time, my dual air Reba Race on my 29er has been totally, completely worry-free.

One friend's Lyric has a problem with losing travel after using the 2-step travel knockdown.

Another friend just built a Nomad with a Totem coil, he's loving that thing.

That's about all I know on hiccups.

    +++++++++++++++++

Marshal, tell us more about your Totem Solo Air. What bike is it on and what kinds of riding have you done on it, and how does it compare to other forks of similar travel -- single or double crown?

GR - If you are still looking, I may have a Marz Z1 Light for sale, if Vicious doesn't jump on it. 6" travel w/ ETA, 20mm thru-axle, 4.9lbs, and a great set of tits.
