Up to the Minute Colorado Backcountry Weather Conditions

After reading MBSC's TR about Torrey's this past weekend, somebody got to asking about up to the minute Colorado BC weather conditions. Well...I found where you can get all of the SNOTEL/NWS sites for Colorado, and I imagine other states as well.

    http://www.met.utah.edu/cgi-bin/drom...1=12&orderby=e

I know that this takes a little knowledge of what counties your intended line or weather site is, but this is where CAIC pulls their Loveland/Berthoud Pass data from, and it appears that this site is open year around.

ALSO...when you click on a site, you can pull up a topo map (down to 7.5 minute quad level) of where that particular SNOTEL/NWS site is; You can also do trending/graphs, etc.

Just thought this would help the maggots and others out there stay safe and see if the snowpack locked up overnight.

I forgot where I got it, but I've got a Google Map plugin that shows all the sites then can cull data from there as well.

You may want to check the date on mbsc's Torrey's thread, BTW.

Heh, I was really confused for a minute I didn't realize Pow4Brains bumped my Torrey's TR

Thanks for sharing that link! A lot of useful info there.

I'm still partial to this though:

I like being able to just click on sites using the map, getting weather and sno info right away, not worrying about what county it's in.
