Hi Sledneckripper! I would like to formally invite all the "maggots" to come join our fun-loving community. I think most all of you will find that our seasoned moderators "keep the bar high" by maintaining a sense of order and decorum, while encouraging quality discussion about our favorite pastime. It may take a small amount of getting used to, as we do have reasonable standards as far as language and image posting that are strictly enforced. The registration is easy and painless, and the rules will be explained in detail during the process. Come join the fun!

STFU SPAMMER
[edit: added] damn you guys are fast! above for alpinespammer.com
hope you're right about not shutting down, and have fingers crossed.
Epic (or any other moderated site) wouldn't work. TGR's community has come together differently precisely because of the lack of moderation.ya know, beer is far more than just the world's most perfect breakfast food.

Code:#!/usr/bin/perl use HTML::TreeBuilder 3; use LWP 5.64; use LWP::Simple; threads = ( '85832', '85054', '84434', '69344', '68824', '67748' ); my browser = LWP::UserAgent->new; binmode STDOUT; foreach (threads) { cursite = _; my url = "http://tetongravity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=cursite"; my response = browser->get(url); die "error on url -- ", response->status_line unless response->is_success; die "error expecting HTML", response->content_type unless response->content_type eq 'text/html'; my tree = HTML::TreeBuilder->new( ); tree->parse_content(response->content) || die $!; outfile = "/srv/www/htdocs/TGR/out/cursite.html"; open(OUTFILE, ">outfile"); (root, docbase) = (tree, 'http://teteongravity.com/forums/'); foreach my div (root->find_by_tag_name('div')) { next unless grep ref(_) && _->tag eq 'br', div->content_list; text_content = div->as_HTML; print OUTFILE text_content; } close(OUTFILE); tree->delete( ); }
Code:cat tgr_save_searchpage1.html | grep "thread_title_" | awk -F"\"" {'print $4'} | awk -F"_" {'print $3'}

I suggest Powderbuzz.com if we have to leave. Mountainbuzz.com is similar to this place in attitude also, but their ski forums have never really taken off.

If we have to go, we should go where we are welcome and where we are gauranteed a free maggot environment. I'm not sure we'd mesh well wit hthe TTipsters. Mountainbuzz, I don't know... are they a free for all forum?
I think we should first ask KD about returning to Powder if they want us and will honor their "No more Daniel Incidents" promise.
Otherwise, if jonpierre can really handle the bandwidth, why not go with him?Originally Posted by blurred

Dude, enough already, we all know you love fucking snowmobiles and hate fucking hippies. Step away from the keyboard for a bit. You are like a damn parrot:
[Parrot] RRRRRAAAAAUUGHHHHHHHH Snowmobiles are cool, hippies suck, Polly wants some two stroke oil. RRRRRAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHH" [/parrot]
An now I am going back to Sprocket Rockets for the summer. I will see you all next October. Really hoping it is here.Last edited by JoshP; 05-23-2007 at 03:26 PM. Reason: Added some shit.

I had posted a link to a forum at PMGEAR.com but then... thought better of it. It felt ungrateful and creepy. But I don't want to see this community move to some moderated forum.
We'd be happy to host it, no moderation. If that's something people are interested in, please let me know.

Hypothetically speaking what if the ski journal built a dedicated forum just for this community? I wouldnt want to take away from TGR so im thinking only if something happend to this site.

IF we get chucked, my vote is for mountainbuzz. Its pretty much a paddlers and bikers forum, but the attitude is real similar to here and I dont think its moderated too much, if at all.

If the Ski Journal or PM gear hosted a forum that would be exceptional, but we can also look into options of creating our own forum through ezboard.
