I think the Feds dropped the ball on containing domestically and numbers are only low due to lack of testing. Good source tells me county of san diego only has 1000 test kits and limiting to 20 tests per day. Hopefully the feds have more, because they are dumping all the cruise ship people at the local base. I'm waiting to buy until it seems the market has priced in a ~2 week shut down and ~5-10% mortality for old people....plus some panic.

Europe is shutting down, fast and properly. Mid sized firms are already panicing with short term liquidity & production. Nobody is even doing calculations with the medium (4-8week) raw material & workforce shortages. I personally have a hard time seeing that the situation stabilises in the coming weeks as data starts to flow in about the longer term impacts. Running down certain production pipelines (metal, wood, chem industry) will take time and it will take even longer to start 'em up again. Initial predictions of European countries taking a 2-3% hit in GDP has changed into 5-8%.

There has to be some Euro banks going down with this. They were still hobbled by 08. Italy first. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena is my bet.
