It would be kinda funny if someone took a small pot of money and traded solely on the advice in this thread. The maggot investment club.

There were people on twitter 6 weeks ago talking through position sizing. Last posts on subject were "all in XYZ Oil ETF at 1x" - these are now about 20-40% lower, with some people leveraged to the long side. In the primary ETFs the retail buyers have lost a few hundred million in the last few months, and volume suggests it's only accelerating.

This $44 level might be the first noteworthy bottom in the process. I'm certainly not planning to short below this level unless the chart gets extended. Bounces to the long side will become stronger and levered crude etns can offer large intraday ranges. There was a very nice short earlier on a $47 retest that faded to $45. Amounted to a $5/share rip in $SCO

Nikkei and DAX marching higher. SP500 looks likes it's ready to blow. Soft earnings and layoffs be damned.

There's the soft holiday sales slack. Not sure what it means for the economy:

The iPhone sales drove the company’s total quarterly revenue to $74.6 billion, up 30 percent from a year earlier.

34,000 iPhones sold per each 24 hours for the quarter is an amazing volume.

Buying iPhone is probably a better buy than most of the crap that gets purchased on holidays. It is a useful device.

These two put up some gaudy intraday p/ls, recent comments on the overall equity situation:

7th year now of bull market, almost longest in history. <<< Just food 4 thought.

@EpicaCapital It may be almost the longest bull market in history, but THIS time it's different.

Crystal ball reader on TWTR saying AAPL going to hit $130 in the next couple months. Easy trade to put in the "maggot financiel guide, 2015 edition". If I wasn't using all available liquidity trading crude I'd park a chunk on AAPL til March n see what happens.

Every time I see a chart that lists median numbers I immediately start questioning the data. Medians and means can be so different you gotta ask yourself which one (or neither) fits the purpose of the analysis.

I prefer median, it smooths over the distribution, preventing undue influence of tail events. For P/E this should make the median chart a more forgiving view than that of a mean chart.

Went in too early this morning in $SCO // short #WTIx2, added on a spike after inventory showed a reduction in the rate of increase of storage. This one puts me in the green on the overall oil trade (lost 6.5% on failed buys of oil in the $50s and $60s, but now am up 7.5% on intraday shorting via $SCO).

And the government, too. Don't forget how much they've come to love the high prices because of all the tax revenue plus royalties from federal leases.

Guy with the ape avatar flinging poo for no reason is amusing. AXAS is fine, I see no shame in buying right now at depressed levels relative to global production costs. We don't know if anyone even bought it, just a recommendation and thank you.
