Just read that S&P futures are up 1%, but I have to confess, I don’t know what this portends. Can anyone explain?

March is a quarterly expiration month. A lot will depend on which way the leverage gets resolved .

Test of the low and reversal overnight is usually a good thing.

China is rallying because they have relatively high rates, a weak currency, and lots of reserve for fiscal stimulus.

Ok, then, which one of these reports is true?

Hearing different stories about the Asian markets

    https://www.thejakartapost.com/news/...s-spreads.html

    VS.

    https://money.cnn.com/data/world_markets/asia/

Likely we will see a small rally?

I wouldn't put much stock (heh) in futures or after hours. The volume of trades during those times is a fraction as during the actual business day. I think it is mostly algos trading with each other, trying to figure out what market sentiment is going to be. I have been burned many times thinking I am getting out in front of the market only to have it go sideways at 9:30ET.

Both, opened lower and moved sharpy higher. Moved back lower around 04:00 Pacific (typical, that's when US traders get to work) and now back higher. Could go either way today. Up 1000 down 1000 or flat.

Ups hit a 5 yr low. Yield almost 5%.

Hard to say if that dividend will hold up, but might get really good the way this is going.

Munchin better be working on some serious fiscal policy right now to pre bail out businesses and individuals who are already deep in debt, like they're doing in China and Italy, but, doubtful that will happen in our Darwinian economy.

    Let's do some livin'

bank of japan said they would support the markets.

that did seem to calm things, up 1/2 a percent and European markets are down.

The Louvre is closed, France is down with the panic.

Too late for fiscal stimulus. All the tax cut money was spent on buybacks and dividends. You can pour gas on a pile of wet wood and it still wonít burn long.

I wouldnít be surprised at dividend freezes going forward. Buybacks have slowed.

You too. Another white guy saying, screw them, I've got mine. Except you're not at the top of the pyramid. You'll get fucked more than the Deplorables, because, when you ain't got nothing, you got nothing to lose.

Test of the 200 day can happen at anytime.

Dividends are not yield. They are asset payouts. If the stock doesnít go up there is no yield to the dividend.

We donít need Bernie Sanders or elizabeth Warren to re distribute fake wealth, and burst the bubble of paper wealth, let the mkt do that.
