There isn't going to be a 2020 election, particularly if there is a market crash or recession.

To put Uber's 5 billion quarterly loss into perspective: https://jalopnik.com/public-transit-...ion-1837080980

So much capital sloshing around, doing stupid shit.

Are you suggesting ride sharing is a real alternative to transit investment?

The recent $5bn was executive's stock.

@PNW: No he's saying, look at the crazy amount of money being burned at Uber which could be put to much better use elsewhere.

Not sure what you're asking, but, its absurd that all this money is producing a money losing international taxi company, and our bridges are falling down.

Labor pool for Uber and Lyft is unsustainable in my view. How they take away driver incentives and retain drivers is a mystery.

the "sharing economy" was about using investor money, law breaking and low cost "contractor" labor to subsidize the lifestyle of the investor class and the upper middle class globally and let them engage in the Randian onanism that defines this era. Fuck Uber. And fuck the fucks that pimped this massive misallocation of capital and the "fake it till you make yourself too big to fail" silicon valley bullshit.

Is the stock market going to tank?

Are we really going to close the trump gap this time? SP under 2000?

I still think coming. And it’s going to be great!

^^ a nice example of how central banks have boxed themselves in to addressing the next recession with monetary stimulus.

We don’t have a monarchy for a reason. We’re not a dictatorship. if that desiccated orange asshat even thought of refusing election results there would be people with pitchforks coming for him up Pennsylvania Avenue.

There is a documentary on the Nixon tapes on HBO. It’s uncanny how similar their presidential stories have been. They may end in a similar fashion as well.

the e-mini futures were 100 points (2770~) lower from here just last week. That's almost 1000 more dow points lower from here. Could easily hit that just as a normal test of the weekly low.

Seems like the WeWork IPO could really turn things around though, right?

    From their S-1:

"We are a community company committed to maximum global impact. Our mission is to elevate the world’s consciousness."

    "
We dedicate this to the energy of we — greater than any of us, but inside each of us."

Is anyone other than current investors rooting for this company?
