had two different limit orders cancel on td ameri... had special instruction to FOK (fill or kill) looked like my price was at market but it did not get filled....is there low priority to sub 1000 share quantity orders or do just have to suck it up and put in a market order....(not very good for surgical precision purchases where pennies matter imo.... what do the tgr experts say?

If it’s a thinly traded stock it might have never gone low enough on the ask. Check time and sales. Also, I sometimes get partial fills that continue to work so if you have a FoK order they may just not fill it. I doubt there was any human intervention and that it just didn’t work.

The systems are designed to give small orders priority. I know on NASDAQ market makes are required to post a minimum size:

    https://www.investopedia.com/terms/n...marketsize.asp

Minimum sizes were instituted to mitigate crashes when the DMM’s stopped making markets during heavy volatility.

On anything liquid I trade at the market.

so is it td that didnt fill it, or someone on trading floor? wouldnt td have an internal supply on a bigger name co. like csco, that they could have filled order?

No internal supply. FOK is a contingency order worked by the brokerage on your behalf. TDA is a clearing house but the order would have been worked separately into the open market which TDA participated in.

If you dispute an order they will go back and check t&s and t&q. I doubt your order ever went through the price with size.

Key is that the order has to be filled immediately in its entirety. If not it is cancelled immediately.

FoK order is "an order to buy or sell a stock that must be executed immediately"—a few seconds, customarily—in its entirety; otherwise, the entire order is cancelled; no partial fulfillments are allowed.

only if you got it at the IPO offering price. otherwise 2000x earnings is a bit much
maybe wait until they whiff a Q when they have to massively reinvest to grow capacity and then buy some

edit that it is only 2000x not 6kx. my bad :P

Ford barely makes money relative to tech companies and they build 1,000,000 F 150 a year. A year's worth of Tesla production is created while a supervisor takes a shit at a Ford plant. They need to license their tech and partner with an old line manufacturer. Grovel with Toyota or Ford and stick their tech in an F-150 or Tundra or rental fleet Malibu's. They can't grow themselves out of their problems. If not they will be bankrupt within a year.

Tesla Bonds trading in the middle of a 5 year range doesn’t look like bankruptcy anytime soon.

Well sending a lot of cars to where a lot of people want to buy them doesn't sound stupid in the short term.

WaPo article on that topic from a couple days ago: https://www.washingtonpost.com/busin...=.6addb7fa7874

clifs notes version: china can makes things difficult but their percentage share of production has gone from high 90's in 2010 to I think 71% now. That, coupled with difficulties they would have regulating trade in the materials, make the whole thing less likely to be a huge problem than most believe.
