A few boat owners I know can't retire.

Haha, and, talk about a negative yield. Never forget a friend of mine who has since passed on tell me that the small sailboat he bought for 8000 had cost him about 120,000 before he sold it.

I could probably retire a couple years earlier sans boat but what fun would that be. I'd say it's about a 10% negative yield and the principal is gone as well. But the girls just want to go faster!!!

Similar pattern to last year. Side wise at the all time highs and well supported. I have short term support around 2960 so needs to hold the lows today and this week.

The high last year was pegged to the Fed. This year it might be the data. ISM today and jobs Friday.

Is the stock market going to tank?

Good call. The crash is in Private Equity. About time.

Short rates moving lower. Good for ARM mortgages.

Is the stock market going to tank?

FTSE down 3% and rolling over from a long sidewise chart. See if it bounces into the close.

Interesting that the yield curve is steepening a bit.

$DJIA is down 500 points from its January 2018 high. Flat return with dividend investment over the period.

    second that.

the majority over at mr. money mustasch are buy and holders and consider even doing the simplest thing like using a moving average for being in and out of the market is market timing and does not work; despite of decades showing it does limit losses.

when the next recession comes, going to be fun watching that site

WSJ article on 84-mo car loans. People do stupid shit.... but on the other hand, consumerism keeps the economy moving!

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-sev...rs-11569941215

If it shows up as paywalled for you, try googling "the-seven-year-auto-loan-americas-middle-class-cant-afford-their-cars" and see if the resulting link bypasses the paywall.

Average age of a car at scrappage is close to 15 years. This seems like the usual stupid car loan fear mongering.

The whole Ubereverywhere in the self-driving vehicle for near free thing isn't happening, cars are cheap. even with 84 month loans.

Agreed. If money is super cheap and long term loans are available, why not. The thing is going to cost you somehow even if title owned and the older, more. Why take cash from assets that are rising, pay taxes on that income, and watch that money literally rust. If you're lucky, and it doesn't take much, you are ahead of the game over five to ten years even if making 5%. And you're driving a newer, nicer machine.

Just don't blow it on an Audi or Lexus. That's stupid.
