Steel prices up.
Hot and cold rolled steel prices have climbed steadily over the past 2 weeks, pulled higher by rising scrap steel prices, as well as service centers buying heavily to replenish lower-than-normal stock levels. Planned mill outages in October, coupled with a recent round of coordinated price increases also added upward pressure to prices. Finally, a weakening greenback has made imported hot rolled steel more expensive.
Hot rolled steel is now selling for $520 per (short) ton up $65 (about 14%) from a month ago.
Cold rolled steel is selling for $670 per (short) ton up $40 (about 6%) from a month ago."We don't beat the reaper by living longer, we beat the reaper by living well and living fully." - Randy Pausch

Political standoff over aid weakens the dollar and forces rates lower with more Fed action. Bullish for stocks.

Fraud? My impression is that while NKLA may be replete with fraud, TSLA is an exceptionally overvalued, mediocre, high priced EV car company and they're going to ride this wave for all its worth. However, it does in fact produce and sell cars.
And, to be fair, the one person I know who leases a Tesla car loves it. With the touch of a button, any seat in the car can produce fart sounds. Juneau is perhaps an ideal town for EVs (only 40 miles of roads, all electricity is from a hydro facility, and our private electric utility has installed free chargers at key points around town (maybe they won't be free for much longer), including the ski area), but Nissan Leafs far outnumber the rest. Bolts are probably the second most popular. But I wouldn't expect a fleet of Tesla's in a city that's mostly employed from the government, fishing, mining, and tourism.

If they were riding this wave for all it’s worth they’d raise $20 billion. Or buy a real car maker or five. Or both. If you are legit & overvalued you use it to your advantage

Well, I guess Benny is feeling smug this morning. Looks like the tech bubble is finally popping? Managed to get out with only minor damage.

"Valuations matter until they don’t matter and by then it’s too late. Or, as Wall Street veteran Bob Farrell put it, bull markets can go further than you think, but they don’t correct by going sideways."
