I think it's more like Plake 'made' K2, in terms of marketing the whole 'extreme' thing and their ability to place their products into the freeride realm and away from the racing mold. Having Schmidt and Hattrup and Coombs..... (list goes on)... didn't hurt either.

Looks like "Legend of Aahh's" is gonna happen and will be submitted to the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. There have been numerous articles throughout the year, but it's refreshing to hear this recent update.

Finishing my new film in late fall, then knee surgery, then someplace warm for a while!

Probably, 'Good the Rad and the Gnarly" I would cut the "Harry Ackerman" crap.

Many skiers, professional or recreational, name “The Blizzard of Aahhh's” as their favourite film. Do you think that there will be any films thirty years down the line which were as inspirational as “The Blizzard of Aahhh's”?

I don't think so... something in that film resonated in a way no Matchstick or TGR film has...

Do you have any future projects coming up? Perhaps a new film in the works? (Your Site mentions “Legend of Aahhh's” - Could you give out any details?)

"Legend of Aahhh's" is a history film about the freedom of skiing and ski film making... it's looking good.

The ski film industry has progressed tremendously over the past couple decades, with over 25 films coming out this year alone. Are you pleased in the direction the industry is going?

I am unable to sit through any of todays ski films... no story, crap music, and horrible narration (when they dare to try it).

What is your favourite ski film?

"Groove Requiem: In The Key Of Ski" and "P-tex, lies and Duct Tape".

What's your favourite ski film segment?

Alaska sequence in Groove cut to Seal's "Crazy"...

In which film did you have the most fun making?

Probably Blizzard 'cause we were living in Chamonix that winter...

YUP.

Groove and P-tex's are pretty solid... the new film Legend's is smokin' hot!

I would not be writing you at this moment without Dick's influence... by travelling and watching him work, I began to believe I could give it a go...

Missed this thread first time around.

First, that group shot that looks 80's is really the western mags schLongboard Day--don't be fooled. Second, the cliff shot is actually Ron--don't be fooled again.

Third, and most important, if that really was Stump, and he is still tuning in, I want Pulp Traction re-released on DVD--NOW.

It looks like an awesome movie. I wonder if we could screen this at Ullrfest 2009? Probably not, but definitely thinking "Blizzard of Ahhhhhs" is a serious contender.
