Smile Friday afternoon happy hour beer stoke

Beer makes everyone happy. So, maybe even the master thread cunters will chime in with some beer stoke.

What's on tap for your Friday happy hour?

I'm having a tough time deciding between this:

    and this:

    I can't tell you.

No. I won't have to kill you if I do.

I just won't know 'til I get to the liqour store to see what they have.

I'll try to get back to you and let you know how it went.

Thanks for some ideas tho. Which do you suggest with cheap whiskey?

I agree. That 90 minute IPA is good, but packs a punch and is heavy in the stomach.

Mirror Pond goes down real smooth.

I tried the Deschutes Buzzsaw seasonal the other night. Not too bad. Kind of a mix between some Obsidian Stout and hints of some mirror pond.

    I'm drinking right now.

It's helping to take the edge off the oxycodone.

Brians Belly? WTF? Hey, at least your company has beer in the fridge. I remember visiting MD9's old work where they had a full-on bar. Now that was pretty damn sweet.

Sometimes I find myself in more of a conundrum at the liquor store than I do at work or life!

As for something that goes with cheap whiskey....hmmm. LB may have a better suggestion than me, but I would go with either something cheap and light or match it up with a Scotch Ale. Old Chubb is pretty damn good.

I am a big fan of their Cinder Cone seasonal.

If you see any of this laying around the back of your local liquor stores...I recommend you grab it. Best beer I've had in a while....true to New Belgium form, it is 6.6% alcohol.

    I stocked up this winter.

Ahhh. Scotch Ale. Good call. Don't know if I can find "Old Chubb" around here, but I know I can find one of these.

I got pretty drunk off that stuff one night because it's so smooth. It definitely doesn't taste like a 6.6% beer. Good stuff indeed. I'm not a huge NB fan, but I do like their Abbey and Trippel.

If you ever get a chance do the brewery tour. They give you more than enough samples at the end. I took my dad there when he was out visiting and we got our fair share of samples.

These are so tasty- the best of both the brown and IPA worlds- and you can have more than one:

These I really limit myself to one (on tap of course):

Is it radix panax notoginseng? - splat
This is like hanging yourself but the rope breaks. - DTM
Dude Listen to mtm. He's a marriage counselor at burning man. - subtle plague

That's the Red Ale, right? Yeah, good stuff. Kinda reminds me of Singletrack Ale.

Hit up Oskar Blues during happy hour and you'll get drunk off that stuff for less than $10. It tastes real good on tap too.

I'm not a huge fan of theirs either, but the 1554 is great. They are a great company, I wish I liked their beer more.
