    KENTUCKY DERBY

Anyone have any information that will lead me to a profitable day in the Derb? Other than selling myself to beautiful college girls in downtown Boston over the weekend?

Ahhh... the Derby. The official start of Mint Julep Drinkin' Season (MJDS.) I hear there's a horse race involved as well, but have my doubts.

My brother's in the infield as we speak. He's betting on Mint Juleps, and judging from his slur, he's having some good luck.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

I'm going to Suffolk Downs tomorrow. Will probably put Curlin, No Biz, Hard Spun and Scat Daddy in some trifectas. So, you probably shouldn't bet on any of them.

I just picked up the Daily Racing form. I will do some studying and come up with a pick by morning.

You can bet on them mentioning Barbaro at least once or twice

Mint Juleps rock! (Although gay as hell 364 days a year)

Used to be very big into horse racing. Several times a week for 3 summers straight, I was at Monmouth Park in NJ (home to the 2007 Breeder's Cup). Handicapping is so much easier when you can see a horse several times over the course of a year. As for picking in this year's Derby, I haven't the slightest clue. Either go with an owner/trainer combo or with Pletcher and the winner of the Florida Derby.

Has anyone actually turned this shit on today? It's like watching the oscar preshow, fucking idiots interviewing celebs about shit they have no idea about! It's a fucking horse race! Interview trainers, jockey's, someone who knows something about horses, anything but what is going on. It's soo fucking stupid anymore.

Thought the overhead shot on the last 1/2 mile was cool. That horse was coming through!! Congrats to the jockey - seemed pretty pumped.

I think I know where I will be on the first Sat in May 2008. Ive been to a Super Bowl, been to Daytona - this one is next.

One of my brother's buddies had the Superfecta today at Pimlico. Paid $1,500 on a $2 bet......but he forgot to box it and lost by the very nose that gave Curlin the win.

Curlin's a tough horse. To get blown past like Street Sense did to him and then suck it up and go, that's tough. Street Sense's jockey was a milisecond away from crying after the race, i felt pretty bad for him.

Why are so many jockeys from Puerto Rico?
    Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
    Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason

That's the best Derby I've seen in a long time. Great race.

Because they are small and don’t weigh much?

I was at Churchill Downs on Saturday, first Derby for me even though I grew up thirty miles from Louisville. Got a last minute invite from a friend of a friend that had a horse running in the race immediately before the Derby, got to go to the paddock and was trackside for that race. Otherwise we had a table in the turf club. Hit the trifecta on the Derby, what a day!
