New iceman = Val Kilmer
Old iceman = George Gervin
It's that simple.

Since when does it take this long for midol to kick in. You all need to get off the collective rag....
That being said, this all boils down to customer service. Sounds like PM Gear dropped the ball on that one. I may not have an astronomically high post count, and apparently that means everything, but Ive lurked and later posted here long enough to know that PM Gear has had numerous problems with getting skis out on time. This isnt the first case, and shouldnt be the last. That being the fact, Splat should get his ass out from in back on the computer and start working on his company, its product, their manufacturing techniques, and customer service. This little incident no doubt cost him several new, and possibly returning customers. I know my girl really wanted BRO's (I ride), but after reading this, and Splats comments yesterday, theres no way in hell shes giving him her hard earned cash. Splat, you can say you were a maggot first and that your going to act like a maggot here. Thats all fine and dandy, but good luck getting respect from your customer base, let alone respect as an actual company by your peers, if you continue to spew insults and bullshit. Gosey could be a turd sandwich in real life, but he still paid for a product, which you have yet to come through on. You do it right the first time, and you have another fanatic customer who wont shut up about his awesome, small time boutique skis. However, now youve just got a guy whos told thousands of people, for free on the internet, that your company sucks, and you just slung shit back. Congrats.Live Free or Die

Thanks for your input
All I know for every "turd sandwich" (Max, Hairy, Summit and a few others) out there saying pm gear sucks. There are 10 people who will tell you these skis rock.
I have had the opportunity to let quite a few maggots and non maggots ride bros and they pretty much all loved them. Whether they love them enough to by a pair of skis from a small upstart company that like many small upstarts has gone through some issues well that remains to be seen. There are a 1/2 dozen patrollers @ soli riding them cause they are durable as fuck. These people don't post and are and will be return customers based on the skis performance, Pats customer service skills, etc, not what some waste of bandwith, my space, facebook, postin college boy says. It's amusing to me you telling Pat how to run his company. Maybe once your done gettin edumacated you can start your own company and show him how it's supposed to be done.
You can't please all the people all the time and I imagine pleasing turd sandwhiches is not the highest priority, but what do I know I'm just another "incorrigible stoner skibum" Have your old lady (girl) buy some K2's something with Luv in the title. She'll Luv em.

Looks like the TGR summer drama series got kicked off in a righteous fashion last night. Come on guys, it's still early in the spring. There's still another 2 months of good skiing left.
I can see where both sides are coming from. I'm sure things will get settled out and all will be good in the end.
For a company that was built by maggots, it's kind of disgusting to see the response by one of the main founders behind the company and the way he reacted. Maybe he was pissed off and was having a bad day. We all have those days. Like it's been discussed before, I think the company is lacking in customer service and that is trickling down to other aspects of the business. If the skis aren't going to be ready for 6 months, then straight up tell the customer. If they aren't going to be ready for a year, then let them know. Make cut-off dates for production or accept only a limited amount of orders. Focus on making a solid product and getting it out to the customer in a timely manner and you will have happy people in the end.
I'm not trying to knock on pmgear at all, just making an observation from the sidelines. Several of my friends had waited all winter long for their skis and finally got them and were stoked. They probably would have been more stoked to have been able to ski on them this winter. I think the company is trying to bite off more than they can chew at the moment. Pat works his tail off every day, however, it doesn't look like he has the manpower to pump out the quality product he is looking for at the pace the orders are coming in.
A disclaimer should be made by the company at the time of purchase, so the customer knows what sort of time frame they are agreeing to and what to expect. Maybe some folks automatically think the product will be shipped once they hit submit in the checkout window.
Ok, back to the drama now.

I never said anything about how well the skis perform, just that his customer service skills, and in turn manufacturing skills are sub par. There are numerous cases of Bros showing up late, etc. I know that starting a company from the ground up is going to take some trial and error, but its been a couple years, they should be able to judge an accurate time frame for delivery by now. I would also argue that a customer who had an awful experience with a company is going to do alot more harm than a ski patroller giving some ski recomendations. This thread illustrates this point, that you agree with, in that the patrollers arent out here backing him up, but hes sure getting out to the masses the problems with PM Gear.
That doesnt even cover the fact that he came back and participated in a flame war. A 12 year old could tell you thats bad business practice.Last edited by AdironRider; 05-03-2007 at 01:00 PM.

Personally, I think it would fix a lot of things if the website said "You can expect a 3-6 month delay in the delivery of your skis from the time ordered" instead of saying the same thing about 50 days. That would lower a lot of high expectations, and keep a lot of the criticism down- at least people would know what they're dealing with then. That being said, I had no issues with Pat and the way he runs things- I've actually had a few great experiences with customer service.

I don't have an issue with how hard anyone here works for anything. All I was saying that you can't call the kid POOR. Anyone who has a quiver like Max has is not POOR. Anyone who has acar like max has is not poor.
I am not Poor, I have a nice house, a newer car, a full quiver and get to ski 50 + days a year.
I have never met max, I have sold him some stuff thru a group buy, he was reasonably easy to work with, no complaints etc.
I also have a pair of 1st season Bros that I enjoy skiing on and talk as much good about them as I can. I would however resist the temtation myself to order a new pair of Bros because i wouldn't want to wait thatlong again. I continue to support PMGear by talking up the skis, but still address the fact that one needs to wait in order to get a pair.
