Is a MA fishing license needed on private property?
The house i'm renting is right on the Deerfield river. Do I need a fishing license to fish here?

Those "green piggys" stop people from taking short/illegal fish and check up on the comms to make sure they're playing fair which in part is why our fisheries here in the wonderful state of MA are fucked you fucking ignorant retard.

Far as I know, landowners are not required to purchase a license, however, after trying to navigate the MA DFW website ~ paying the $20 might be your best bet.
