    Brief Bro review: 179 fats

    Conditions: soft spring snow
    Where: Mammoth

    Fat 179s

    other skis in the quiver:

    185 KW fats
    179 soft bros
    181 center mounted trouble makers
    164 PEs

Other skis i demo'd this weekend and a quick summary

192 Big Bros- Stable as hell- i wish i could get a pair for charging, but alas, I am 140lbs and 5-8, and could never power them through tight areas.

188 stiffs- Stable and fun, but a little long for me

    So hears the summary:

Loved these skis. Stable as hell through the spring snow, and fun in the water too.

I can't wait to get these things in the powder. To give you an idea of how much i like them, and am thinking of selling my KW fats (which i loved so much that i made my put them up as my avatar). They have a nice, stiff, flex, and as the maggots at the mini who witnessed my light saber battle with Aaron can attest, they ride switch well too. My favorite aspect with these skis was riding bumps at speed, which they absolutely kill. These wont just be my pow skis, as i will be using them virtually every day, as they charge as well as any of my other skis. They have even relegated my 179 softs to my touring specific ski in my quiver. Plus, pat is the mang when it comes to customer service.

I highly recomend these skis to anyone who want a pow ski that can handle spring corn (aka crappy beat to shit snow)

    fat bro = bro + 15mm

    therefore

    125-99-114 + 15mm = 140 - 114 - 129

I skied the fat Bros at the mini also. They were great in the slush bumps, and handled the mank on the run outs below wipe out/drop out chutes, but sucked on the groomers (no surprise there,) since it is so far edge to edge. It is a fun, stable ski. I also skied the 188 stiffs, but they were too much ski for me. I take full responsibility, I don't think I am a good enough skier to drive them in the manky conditions. Stable as hell, and railed the groomers well once on edge, but I had to really work them to get there (my fault, not the skis.)

I am 5' 10", 170lbs for those who care about such things.

I ripped the 179 fats again at mammoth for the first time since we did the proto testing at Hood in October.

I can't wait to sink them in some pow!

    ...or try to.
