Wow! Mrs. Spank is totally badass. My long run is her warm up!

Any recommendations for microspikes for running? Kahtoola nano spikes or something else?

Asking me or ISBD? Mrs. Spank uses Sportiva Akashas. She never got into microspikes.

Thanks! Just asking in general. Once the snow gets too deep on the range roads, I'll be limited to running on a road that doesn't get plowed regularly and could sometimes be skated on.

    Running, Anyone...?

    It was chilly and drizzly.
But I’ll take this weather over high 70’s sunny weather any day!

    Kevin Hart.
Predicted his time 3:15, finished 4:05.
    Marathon is an humbling experience.

    Extra security after last Tuesday.

Getting off Queensboro Bridge onto 1st Ave. is a very special moment.

    Last stretch.

I always dreamt to have marathon Sunday spectator’s am beer!

I never had to worry about weight gain or never done diet until mid 30’s.

After 40, I realized I have to watch what I eat which I never had to before.

I love food and I like to drink.

Since my boyfriend works nights (SUN-THURS), Friday and Saturday are our nights to hang out and drink til 4-6am.

    9 years later, I’ve gained 30 pounds.

I used to be 125lbs, size 4-6 and my heaviest which was earlier this year was 158lbs size 6-8.

Not be able to run for 1.5 year (left foot injury) didn’t help, either.

I started running again in June from 0 mile, 158lbs.

I tried to lose as much as I can before start pounding some long runs.

I did low carb diet which was hard to do while I was running 4-5 times a week.

After a while, I reintroduced healthier carbs such as wheat, Quinoa, Sweet Potato… etc.

Approaching taper I was eating more carbs even pasta and white rice.

Now I’m pretty much back to protein, vegetable and good carbs.

I still drink, but minimize myself to a beer or two over the weekend and drink vodka soda if I want more.

I learned I needed to find what works for me and change life style that’ll last for lifetime.

Now I eat 3 meals a day and 2 snacks between.

If I really want something, I allow myself to enjoy it and workout harder and longer.

Luckily, I don’t really have sweet tooth (except weakness for ice cream), so that’s a little easier.

I snapped shots at the gym every couple weeks to see progress.

    July 21st

    September 27th

    October 12th

This morning I was 143lbs and I would like to drop another 15lbs.

    Boyfriend has no clue.
He says I look the same?
I’m gonna take it as he loves me no matter what and stuck with me when I was the heaviest. lol
way to go and keep it up!

I ended up taking a job out of town for a few months and had to miss the Climbathon and Girdwood Marathon. Kind of bummed but shifted focus to weight training for 8 weeks .

Got back running 9 days ago and noticed improved breathing and general core stability from the weights. . Signed up for Alaskaman Triathlon for next July. Lottery picks on nov 15, fingers crossed.

Moving to kona dec 1 until may 1 to train hard for next summer mtn run series either way.

Anyone want to come over and suffer in heat?! The key is to end your run next to the ocean to counter heat stroke!

I have Kahtoolas. They work and have lasted through a good amount of use on rock. I think there are some immitations that work just fine. Don't get Yaktrax. They fall off and break.

Here is a decent looking knockoff: https://www.sierratradingpost.com/sn...processed=true

Surprised no one's commented on this, but a woman just ran the fastest hundred miler. Twelve hours and change at some race. Don't know the course conditions, but hell of a fucking effort to run that distance so hard.

Camille Herron. It's all over my FB feed (cuz I have lots of ultrarunning friends). 100 miles in 12:42. That's 7:37 mile pace for 100 miles including bathroom breaks, etc. Damn amazing. For comparo sake, the worlds greatest ultrarunner, Yiannis Kouros, holds the mens record of 11:46. The American men's record just dipped under 12 hours earlier this year.

As distances increase women approach men in time. There is a possibility that one day women will pass the boyz.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

Dang, I made the cut for this AlaskanMan triathlon Race. The wife is not supportive because she knows I get all obsessive in training mode. How in the hell do you find time to train for 2.5 mile swim in 50 deg water then 120 mile bike then 26 mile run?!!

And $500 entry nothing to sneeze at. Sponsors? I have 2 weeks to commit...

(Anecdotal) Evidence: Moab 240 this year.

Courtney Dauwalter finished the Moab 240 race in 2 days, 9 hours, and 59 minutes. She was faster than any of the men in the pack, beating the second-place finisher by more than 10 hours.
