Quick 10+ miles, 3,500' gain in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness this morning. Unfortunately had some high clouds covering most of the peaks, but gave some great light. Struggled last week but felt like I had my legs back after giving myself some recovery time. Dealing with some plantar fasciaitis, but manageable. Need to find a morning before work with enough time to get up to a half marathon distance.

That first shot is gorgeous Phatty.

Makes me really want to get out to PNW over this summer. Nice thing about getting turned on to running is that it gives me a summer thing to think about when visiting places. I'm used to having the impulse to bring a bike along. Running shoes are much easier.

Wow, that is some stunning area for a run. The best I can do is a pretty amazing beach run at low tide. While spectacular, not much to crow about elevation wise.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

I would love a run on the beach right about now! We need some beach running stoke in here, too.

Did a little lap in the local mountains- snow slowly giving way to the trails. But I was still up to my knees in a few spots- worth it. Blix route in the Babine Mtn ParkName: D4F3FE8C-777F-437B-AB6B-01080026AE1E.jpg

Damned dirty covid has the water fountains in the parks closed so there's nowhere easy to refill my bottles. I carry 2 10oz bottles in a little Nathan waist pack but that only gets me an hour or and hour and a half before I'm dry cuz I'm a big sweater.

This got me recently. Was counting on a refill 2/3 through a long run. Ended up very dehydrated.

Was a good day outside Seattle again. Missed my PRs on Bandera by 2 minutes. 8mi, 2:30 and 3700ft of climbing. Weather is phenomenal in the morning for running right now and wildflowers are popping.

Unexpected nice weather on Saturday was good opportunity for fun ridge run above town. Forgot how much of a bitch running down 3000' of steeps can be.

Took kelso ridge to torreys then down the grays peak trail yesterday and managed my personal best time in 9 attempts over the last few years. In previous years I'd poop out on the descent and have to walk the last mile or so but yesterday I managed to (slowly) run the whole thing. It was one of those perfect climbing days with light clouds to keep the temp down, no real wind to speak of, and perfect temps for shorts and a sun hoodie.

    Really nice morning light...

Single best bang for your buck 14er route for us poor front rangers, hands down.

Some good scrambly sections on fairly stable rock and remarkable views in all directions.

^^^Totally! Those 2 pics show the most changeling bits of it and the perspective of the 2nd (intentionally) obscures the easier path over to the looker's left.

Granite Mt. near Seattle has cleared enough that it's mostly snow free to the top. Had hoped to traverse the ridge to Tusk O Granite, but with no view we bailed on it. Garmin is still down for syncing, but ended up with 7.8mi, 3700 gain in just under 3hrs. Took it slower on the way down because the conversation was good. Such a great time of year to be out on the trails.

You be sure to have a little hair of the dog in the morning. It'll hurt at first, perhaps a lot, but don't worry, that's just your body revolting against the ill treatment. Show no mercy...
