^^saw those, thought I'd throw it out to the wind here and see if I get a hit.

I sent a pair of 100's to Suprechicken last year that I thought I wouldn't need!

Anyone know the amount of adjustability in the sth with tab forward pressure indicator. Buying a set of skis mounted for 325. Any chance I can use the same holes for 305 or will I need to move heel piece?

According to Philpug you should have apprx 28mm of range.
IIRC, 28mm (or close to it), one of the best tracks in the industry, almost 3 boot sizes. The adjustment comes only from the heel. The Warden uses the same heel, so it has the same range. If you are looking for a toe adjustment option, a demo binding is really your only choice until the Warden Demo is released next season.

That’s the sth2 you’re talking about. Skis are mount for OG sth and I have a pair that I can throw on and hoping to reuse holes. Guess I’ll screw them is and see if it works. If not I’ll move the heel forward.

Apologies. I don't know why I assumed sth2. Poor reading comprehension I guess.

Sally 997/977/916/920/900s/912/914 etc thread, all u ever wanted to know

Here is a pic of standard Salomon tab heel track. To the best of my knowledge, the design has never changed. It appears that there is about 25mm of range available.

Thanks. Unless the skis were originally mounted with the heel piece almost all the way back, looks like I’ll be remounting the heel.

Moving the heel piece forward will put the boot center forward as well, by around 10 mm in this case. If you don't want that then move the toe piece back taking the boot center back by 10 mm instead.

Most Salomons I've dealt with don't put the heel in the middle of the track if mounted from the jig. More like 10mm smaller adjustment possible and 20mm bigger.

Remount the toes if you want to move your midsole back relative to the existing mount, or heels if you want to move your midsole forward.

Thanks for the info. Skis arriving today. Pretty sure I’ll move heels as I tend to favor progressive mounts

Any general advice on looking for a pair of these to reuse some open holes in skis I just picked up? I'm mostly a Pivot guy but happened to pick up a pair of OG Bodacious (118 underfoot) with STH holes for my BSL (4 hole toe, 5 hole Equipe heel). I read the rundown on the first page but I'm pretty out of the loop on these.

ETA: I'm skiing Pivots at a DIN of around 10, FWIW.

I have 2 pairs of OG Bodacious and a pair of the Spur'd ones, all with Solly 916s(4-hole toe, 5-hole heel).

Look for pairs with solid toe wing AFDs. Make sure they're adjusted properly, and check them frequently until you trust that pair. Some have worn toe wing screws and can loosen off. Make sure your toe height is adjusted properly too.

An all time favorite ski for sure. These are a replacement/backup for a pair of the black topsheet reissue versions that are pretty thrashed.

Anyway, appreciate the advice. I'm inclined to stick to relatively newer models generally, but am I gonna die if I find some decent 914s? I don't need a 16 DIN but metal construction is nice.

Lots. Always thought the 916 toe with the STH-12/16 heel would be a nice combo.

    Salomon 916 / STH Steel: 1,418g
    Salomon STH-16: 1,161g

Speaking of STH-16 heel...as it becomes increasingly harder to source decent 916/920, are all the new STH-16 use that rail system where the heel just slides on? My wife's STH 12 have them and that kinda scares me when I finally have to switch to consumer bindings.

Haven't tried it yet, but it looks like STH brakes have the same metal bits as 900-series brakes. Need wide brakes for a 900S, going to try grinding off the extra plastic on some STH brakes. Looks like it'll work.
