how to swap salomon brake arms

My original photos for this have now gone so here's a video ... the process is exactly the same for the 997 style brake housing as it is for the later 912/4 brake housing ... swap away ..

Perhaps you'd be more comfortable on epicski or Paula's Ski Lovers, AltaNancy.

Because of the Propulse mechanism. IIRC, it has a tendency to explode.

    Search Tech Talk for Propulse.

There's a difference between 914 Lab and 914 Lab ZZ's.... I think so and I sure hope so because I bought 914 Labs on the internet and removed the metal connector bar and was planning on mounting them up on some Atlas's.

Great binding, but that's a REALLY BAD IDEA to remove the metal connector bar.

    I messed up... $200 mistake.

This site is loaded with stuff and I always "search" but it's not always easy to find everything that's here.

BTW, I have found another pair of all metal 14 DIN 747EQUIPES. If anyone is interested they are in the Goodwill on Oddie in Reno.

900's are now off the indemnification list. For the life of me, I don't see why.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

    Even the 16 din version?

That makes no sense whatsoever. Are 997s still on the list? If not, I'm going to have one pissed off stockpile.

I agree. Since the 900 is newer than the 997, do the math. Gone. Sucks. stupid. Look as 15 year old TT09's that are still OK...These are fine bindings. I have been a huge Salomon Driver fan since the 957, I am really falling out of love with them.

Damn that sucks I've got at least 4 pairs. I like them better than my 916s, the wing ADFs last longer.

so im guessing this is salomons decision? what criteria do they use to determine what bindings are indemnified? do parts become prone to failure at a certain age? its not as if its outdated technology in this case...

Salomon 2009-10 technical manual here. 2009-10 shop practices manual here. Indemnification is page 4 of the latter.

Last year, the x77, x97, and x00 series were still on the list. All are now gone. They dumped three generations of bindings in one fell swoop.

Yet another reason I'm done with Salomon.

Done with them also, if they will not back their own products, why should we.

Salomon has about the shortest list of indemnified bindings out of the major players. There is NO reason the top end of 77, 87 and 850/900 bindings should be off the list.

unsatisfactory jobs...time to retrofit my jig for fat skis...

Is this the ENTIRE 9xx line, or just the 900?

If it is, that would explain how come I was able to get that pair of minty 916ZZ LABs so cheap on the weekend.

810,812,910,912, 916, 920+ are all OK...now. Any of these could be off next year.
