Pushing yourself a little bit more on each and every ride in the early season, realizing you just killed it up that hill despite the 90 deg weather, absolutely bombing it on the way back down, nailing each and every turn almost like you were on autopilot, and then showing up fashionably late to your friends' BBQ with a big shit eating grin on your face.

Walking up 3 flights of stairs to my office Monday morning after a Sunday ride that pushed my envelope (which many days, doesn't really take all that much!).

It's all good... new trail by Warm Lake, cute lady rippin', yelling at me to look further down the trail, following my lines, hitting drops to transitions and then jumping in the lake with me. Radness.

Did the town cop chase you through the lumber yard, too, Cru Jones? Awesome.

FYI...no Boise this weekend--going to Sundance. And I found my armor, too. Thanks.

Getting a parking ticket and speeding ticket yesterday, having an awful day at work (like today), but the sun is shining, its 70 degrees out, my bike is on the car and I'll be on the trail by 4:00 PM.

I'll be feeling great by 4:05.

Im not really sure what the spirit of this tread is but I rolled up on a bobcat about to slay a few turkeys last night, my first wildcat sighting.

I was pretty happy about that.

Riding with a guy that sold his motorcycle for a mountain bike and seeing the big old grin he's wearing. He said: "I like how you feel soo much more out of control".

connecting canal trails from the house for 22 miles of single/doubletrack with only 1 mile of road= still way better than road riding.

riding the same trail with a different mentality

ie one day just trying to mach the shit out of it
then another, playing and popping around on little features, riding high up on berms, looking for flow in new lines, pumping terrain etc

Getting a new bikes for Mrs. Concrete and I. I'm stoked to ride on something that isn't 10 years old and for her to have a bike that fits.

3-day weekend to check out trails with new wheels.

I recently went on my first real trail ride ever, having only ridden DH before, and as much as I love DH, trail rides are hella fun, the DH bike hasn't been ridden in almost a week.
The whole human race is de evolving; it is due to birth control, smart people use birth control, and stupid people keep pooping out more stupid babies.

Wow that's pretty backwards to most peoples experience I'd think.

I had a come to jesus moment on a trail I've ridden countless times last night... definitely got my blood pumping.

Riding your favorite local trails alone once in a while!

Not worrying about people missing the turn.
Not stopping and waiting (or being the person sucking wind in the back).
Not feeling bad about interrupting the ladies' chat sessions during stops to start pedaling again.
Not telling the person you're passing that there are going to be 8 more people clogging their DH experience in a second.

Just twisty singletrack, you and your bike!

I love the weekly organized group rides! Other people push you harder, you can share some skills, someone else usually has a flask or beer. Both leading, and following, and once in a while sweeping, but sometimes...

ripping a very familiar trail for the first time of the season when its totally fresh and flowing it exactly where you left off last fall

then consuming copious amounts of sweet potato fries, bbq, and new brews at the local smokehouse

    Summer has begun!
