I hate to get back to the original subject of this thread , but I mentioned something about the board to my wife yesterday and she said "those people swear too much!"

I don't really care about profanity on the board, but I can see powstash's point.

KQ, thanks for the info/direction. I'm a bit lazy to post my TR's on my own site - FeedTheHabit.com and it's more fun posting them here where you get feedback on them.

I'm not interested in leaving the community and if I post stuff elsewhere it'll be on Feed. I was just making my thoughts known and it seems that it's particularly struck a cord with you and Pinner. No big deal.

Hmmmmmm.....it's not that it "struck a cord" with me on this issue but on other things it did. There are a lot of things posted here on a regular basis that I get fed up with and often times I have to remind myself that this really is a "guys community."

I deal with it 'cuz I like it here. When I want to share something from the board with someone who might find the rest of the site offensive I just cut and paste.

I can understand if it's your personal philosophy to not swear but if you have another site you can use for friends and family and your only reason for not using it is because you're lazy and then you come here asking ppl to mind their p's and q's well then.........

Seriously, I really don't care. I don't think I post "swear words" in subject lines that much. I do know I use "Fokk" and "Fak" quite often. I'm just playing along here.

I had a tough time reacclimating myself to the elementary classroom after spending months at a time in Alaska on fishing boats. I finally decided that swearing and language vulgar to a large percentage of society, not to mention those under ten years of age who didnt' need to here my explitives, was just a part of my agenda. I was comfortable with my oratory orientation, did not feel like changing something that came so naturally, so I simply removed myself from a venue where it wasn't acceptable...and planted my fat ass here.

This really surprises me. Well not the insulting funny comments but just the number of people sort of defensive about a pretty innocent request. He didn't demand no more profanity in fact he didn't demand anything but requested less or no profanity in subject lines. Sadly the rebel nature of some demands a profane subject be posted and without the conviction to use their regular name.

I don't care about the profanity, no kids, no IT guy, no worries. I don't see the request as much different than insisting NSFW be in the subject for images that aren't work friendly. After all it's supposed to be a locker room and porn is certainly becoming part of our society. Look what it did for the careers of Paris Hilton and Pamela Anderson.

Or is it different than political views? Just because many people voted for Bush and he's allowed to have one more term, corporate america loves him and he's accepted as President by many if not most. Does that mean someone like KQ shouldn't try to change all that? Generally accepted doesn't make it right or more to the point necessary let alone take away someone's right to request a change.

I see it as a pretty simple and reasonable request and I will try to continue posting no profanities in subject lines.

Yeah, its a resonable request...I plant my flag on the side of not inserting profanity in the subject line. Won't see it out of me anymore. On the other hand, I really don't care what anyone else does, so I'll just moderate myself and not pass judgement elsewhere.

Smile I agree that it's the same concept as NSFW.

Next time you're having erectile dysfunction with iceman, be sure to ask him what a car is.

Do you really think it's possible I would have erectile dysfunction with iceman?

As a person that is browsing this board from school (and read this whole thread with the teacher helping the student beside me) as often as possible. I think it would be polite. But since when is the board a place to go when you want to be polite all the damn time?

What about phUnk's classic "To the fucking fuck that stole my mountain bike?" Possibly one of the best thread titles ever.

I'm indifferent, and I don't post a lot of new threads, but I'll refrain from using those dirty, dirty words in the subject line.

I don't really care either way; the teachers dont care about profanity at my school and its not like my parents don't hear it from me. from my young-ass perspective (being young does have a couple of advantages... like having young knees , other than that being under 21 is kinda )

But in the future I won't post profanity in thread titles (i'm not sure i ever did) for whoever wants its sake.

phUnk's title was truly classic... good times

Just a thanks from those that posted, regardless of your support or not. I appreciate those that will make the effort.

I also appreciate knowing all the more about erectile dysfunction and not to be in a car with Ice or Dex when they are experiencing it. ...and yes Phunk's thread was a classic.

I, btw believe in freedom of speech. I also can understand not wanting to see "fucking fuck stole my dildo" as a thread topic for my kids to see.

I will uphold the request to not swear in thread titles. -Blurred

That's a pretty reasonable response, thanks.

But do what you need to do, y'all, I'm spent on this topic.
