i know you got powder on sat night walter, but during the day on friday it was glop.

i am interested to hear what gimpy finds, i just can't imagine it is holding up to these temps.

however, what about ralston??? i have only done it once but when that corns up that is some of the most fun skiing i have done.

guys --- It's unlikely that anyone who's from out of the area and currently at the Summit is checking the boards. Best way to get in touch with people now will probably be via the phone list.....drop me a PM if you don't have it.

still untracked powder of the creamy variety in the bowl. the trees around the skintrack were variable w/ some remaining pow but it's pretty tracked around there. ralston would be good but we'd hafta hit it pretty early - like skiing by 9-10 - soas not to be skiing glop like we found in the emerald bay chutes yesterday afternoon. we haven't really been getting hard freezes at night so early is the word for corn. ty - i figured the same thing but do i call every person on the list?

ok, gimpy, we got alot of interest in the b/c tomorrow.

what do you suggest? nater was thinking either stevens or perhaps tallac south bowl.

i will defer to your judgement.

i concurred w/ nater that tallac could be a good choice. i've been ogling stevens north cirque all this week from w-house but tallac is prolly a better call. maybe some pow in the trees to the side of the skintrack and decent slushcorn everywhere else. many options w/ which we can ponder on the summit w/ the best view in tahoe. spring creek trailhead at 7:00.

we had a great day on tallac today. telenater, arty50, shera, geoff, buddy the dog and myself got rolling by 8 and were stripping layers at 8:05. another scorching bluebird day was in store for us and evreybodys smiles were as bright as the sun. we found some good porn snow in north bowl and then headed over to the right arm of the cross to have a looksee. rollerball debris off the south slopes but otherwise not too bad and only a couple tracks to be seen. deep to not to deep slushcorn w/ the northish aspects holding the most managable snow. ski cutting on the steeps unleashed some heavy sluff debris and the snow was a bit grabby at times as we all found out much to the amusement of the others. the steeper slopes in the lower part of the cross and the rest of the way down also held some fun slushcorn that was surfed w/ smiles. back at the cars we kicked back w/ a beer and some local produce and then went off to the beacon for a rumrunner and some grub. great day w/ some great folks.

i know chances are slim that outoftown folks are checking the board but some folks are gonna ski waterhouse tomorrow (thurs) and i'm just giving a heads up to anyone that wants in. after bailing on kwood this morning cause of high winds affecting lift ops and softening of the snow i did a quick lap in the whouse bowl and there's still surprisingly good powder if you know where to look. i'm not working till late morning/early afternoon so i'm gonna show nater, mr and mrs rehabit, and whoever else shows where the goods are before i bail and then i assume more laps will be made. meeting place/time is at the starbucks at the "Y" at 8:00. the Y is the intersection of hwys 50 and 89 and the starbucks is in the raleys/kmart shopping center next to roundtable pizza and across the st from mcdonalds.
