Dammit Dave (and you too p4b)! I read this a couple days ago and my nuts still pucker if I just see the thread title on the main page...
Glad you pulled it off unscathed, man.

Heh. Clicked on this thread thinking it would be just another 14K slam dunk and got caught up in the epic. I hate sewing-machine leg. Glad you're in one piece and stronger for it. Well done.
Just curious - did you have a standard mountaineering axe or a recurve, and would it have made a difference? I ask since I generally use the former and wonder if I sometimes ought to bring the latter.

Thanks for another gripping TR. Awesome. If it weren't for trips like that, getting to the top or successfully skiing down wouldn't be so damn exciting and fulfilling....it's part of mountaineering. I bet if something similar ever happens again, you'll be better equipped mentally to deal with it. Fear and the mental game can really be a huge expendeture of energy.

Amazing trip report and pictures (as always)... have you ever considered sending your work (story and pictures) to something such as Powder or SKIING Magazine?
In search of some powder.

Had to bump this gem. Loved all the drama of how Iskibc fully shit his pants on this one, and then the next day, the REAL badasses goldenboy and crew crushed it here-

Mad props to GB and crew fo'so. After seeing that thing up close I can fully understand what an accomplishment it is.
Watching anyone struggle with dire consequences isn’t fun. Eat a dick Superman.
Thanks for sharing some of your experiences iskibc. Hopefully someone will read this and learn from it (if you don’t delete it, sux BTW) when making decisions up in the hills.`•.¸¸.•´><((((º>`•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸.? ??´¯`•...¸><((((º>

I have climbed this a few times by different routes and have always wished I could ski the descent because it's a bitch. One of these days I'll ski it. Great bump, I tries to search for this one a while ago and couldn't find it

Damn, I can't believe he tried that shit without crampons. Fucking nutty...
Cool line, though!!!!Skiing, whether you're in Wisconsin or the Alps, is a dumbass hick country sport that takes place in the middle of winter on a mountain at the end of a dirt road.

Doing some research and I came across this. Worth a bump to displace low-angle, flat-light, early winter TRs.
