Beauty shot, Lance. I dig the overhead pespective. I'm going to be in your neck of the woods next week, looks like stuff should be running.

Nice perspective and good light! I've been meaning to hit that run this winter, but the stars haven't aligned for me to get down there when it's been at optimal flows.
I highly recommend Canyon Creek of the Stilly up thisa way as a classic, must hit (multiple laps) run.

One from my early days: Ohiopyle Falls Race on the Lower Yough, circa 2001.

cool pic. its hard to tell but holes that have a long way to green and the water stays pretty flat, with the pour over water seeming to dive deep always get my heart racing. i have a hard time putting into words what i mean but its the same feeling i get around lowheads.

SJP: yes, yes it does.
nate; that drop (or more accurately, the runout) on the little Salmon is simply nasty. I am pretty sure I would never nut up and run that.

Nice work. I've been meaning to get over there for years but haven't made it yet. Here's a little guessing game for you to test your BC knowledge.
By the way, Lance K...
Nice work with the flash deep in the canyon. You've got me scheming for a couple of Pocket Wizards.

sjp: hmm...no idea. wild ass guess...Pingston. Have you been up there? We ran the middle a few years ago, group didn't want to do the lower, and I have heard little bits about the upper..mainly "awesome" "remote" and "long".

Way to go! Even though it was a guess, I'm impressed with your Kootenay Knowledge.
Like you say, the Upper Pingston is an absolute classic for anyone paddling near Revy or Nakusp. I'll put together on old TR but it might take a while to dig out the old slides and prep some images.
Meanwhile, here is a teaser from the little known "Upper-Upper-Pingston". Lots more big slides where this came from.
Root Skier and I are now 2 for 2.... anyone else care to step in? I think this little game deserves its own thread.

SJP; awesome. I gotta get up there this summer. Do you happen to know Mark Basso? He lives in Calgary but I know he spends a lot of time in the Kootenays.
I can't wait to see the upper P TR.

Me either. I got some footage of that in a video (I was driving home from the Lochsa and saw some buddies dropping in). One of the guys got absolutely worked in the hole just below the drop in Nate S's shot. The kind of working where he was holding his hand above water hoping someone would hit it with a rope. He was finally flushed and ok. I might still have it on tape and will post it if I do.

This thread just further reinforces how much I suck at Kayaking.
Pre-emptory comment: Shut Up, CB! (ridingshockgun, to the rest of you)
Nice shots all around.I should probably change my username to IReallyDon'tTeleMuchAnymoreDave.
