Just a question from someone not used to your conditions: I see almost no one wearing a back pack. So no one is carrying shovel & probe. Are you wearing beacons? With this much snow, what is the reason for not carrying avy gear? Are you so certain of the snow that you know there won't be any slides? Or is it that all this is inbounds and you trust that the patrol have taken care of any dangerous buildups etc.

Not trying to be smart, just curious. I see this in alot of the TRs here.

inbounds Sierra Western Slopes *almost* never slide, Eastern Slopes a bit more frequently - see recent Mammoth Mtn. & Mt. Rose pics...

I'll post a handful of pictures later this evening.

Those pics came out pretty well I have to say
You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.

*Edit* to add Hop's adventure thread...

Would have had much more pow pics, but the powershot gave me the error message earlier than normal. May have something to do with launching airs with it in my pocket...but don't know

Rumor has it that the boundary opened yesterday (03/01/07), I can only imagine the turns down the spur. Probably rotator deep.

Oh just buy a new memory card (or just switch to video )

We COULD have taken pow pics on that last run (still makes me smile) if Slim hadn't been such a nancy. (just kidding dude I actually agreed with your assessment of the situation and the urgency).

Rotator deep? As in shoulder? Ummm, that sounds good. Gonna have to pass on tomorrow, but hopefully it will stay good enough up there that sunday in WS, TB or Spur will be $$$$.

I thought Clack died in an inbounds avy at Sierra at Tahoe. Glad he is still alive.

I heard a similar story but it was an out-of-control avy of Wild Turkey and Marlboro Reds.

Please oh please tell me that your index finger is pointed towards the camera. I can't see it on this computer, but it sure as hell looks like you're throwing the point. That would be really sweet.
