Vancouver Film Festival:Bill Briggs Grand Teton

Just got informed today that the Vancouver Mountain Film Festival will be showing a short bio I did about Bill Briggs' first ski descent of the Grand in 1971. It's a cut out of the full length docu about the Tetons.

Screening February 19th. Lots of maggots involved in this 15 minute piece.
Narrated by our own Red Baron. Skiing by AltaPowderDaze, Gramps, Guy the Lurker, and Powstash.

    Thumbs up

Nice! Very cool. For a first film you sure are getting a lot of exposure. Stoked to see the entire thing at brewvies.

    Very nice to hear.
If I had the time I could've maybe gotten you some awards (if the clip was great of course).
Almost was on the judging panel but the time commitment was just too great.
I'll make sure to check it out though.
    Congrats.

You are in the credits as a 'skier' in the Briggs gig.

    Congratulations Trackhead et al!

It will be fun to say we knew you before you went big. I still have some of this footy on my iPod too and check it out when I need a quick virtual escape.

My only complaint would be the lack of other ski mountaineers in Tetons like Stephen Koch and John Griber. You do know that people snowboard those same line too right?

Koch is in the last 15 minutes of the full length version. Griber makes an appearance, but photo only.

You can only put so much material in 60 minutes. Believe when I tell you that I left out 98% and used 2% of the material I had.

Hey Congrats that's great, and the first film. I know a lot of film students who would be extremely jealous!

That's pretty cool. I got a call from someone that told me it was gonna be on TBS. My response was . I must have been misinformed. PBS is equally cool though . Pretty impressive. Nice work.
