    Question JONG binding mounting help

Can someone who knows what they are talking about just run through the important points of mounting bindings are? I am a knuckledragger, but got a set-up for the lady friend and want to make sure the mounting is done correctly. Searched and there is no definitive thread...

I have heard "boot center" tossed around a bunch but have no idea what that means, other than the obvious. Does that mean boot center on the center point of the ski? boot center on the marking thingies? any clarification would be ggggggreat...

Just about all skis have a manufacturer's suggested mounting point. For most skiers this mounting point will serve them well, however, some may mount bindings forward or aft to bring out different qualities in a ski. In general, if you're new to the sport, or have not developed a strong idea of how you want the ski to respond, just stick with what the manufacturer suggest.

yes boot center marks on the ski and the boot should line up.
used to be they mounted chicks skis fwd 1cm, but not so much anymore... tha being said,
if you want any kind of warranty on 'em, take 'em to a shop to have the mounting done. Better to spend the $25 if you're not sure. then...
    measure twice, drill once!
Drilling w/ a template is good enough, but to be real accurate, use the correct jig for the binder. The ski (LBF?) should have specs for which size bit to use and if it is the LBF, no metal right? so no need to tap the holes. Use wood glue in the holes before screwing them down... and yes, measure twice.

My phat luvs are mounted at the manufacturer's recommended point and they're great. For whatever that's worth....
