Did the letter you sent them contain more than 1 paragraph? Not saying it was the reason you got bad service, or that it was justified, but it's a lot easier for customer service people to help you if they can understand what the hell you're saying.

I'm sure your letter was fine anyways, they obviously just didn't want to help you at all.

So what ever happened with this?

I bent my Santiago Pures somehow this year and I'm looking to get warranited. I bought them NIP, but at a swap, not from a dealer. I'm hoping I'm not SOL here, I really like the skis. Actually only ONE of them is bent, I have no idea how, I'm just a little guy recovering from knee injury.
Anyway, if anyone has any tips for dealing with Scott, it'd be much appreciated. I tried calling them and didn't get an answer, so I sent the warranty dept a sugar-sweet email in the hopes they'll hook a brotha up.
    Guess we'll see.

    Thumbs up

    Whoa!
    That was fast!
Prolly 30 minutes to get a response to my email. Not exactly the results I wanted but sounds like something could maybe get worked out:

    Thanks for the email.

We no longer bring the Santiago Pure into the U.S., so we will not be
    able to replace them.

As the skis were not purchased through a Scott dealer (correct me if I
am mistaken), we will not replace them free of charge, but we would like
to stand behind the product and offer you warranty replacement pricing
(better than Pro pricing in many cases) on another model from our 0708
line. The P4 might work for you - we make it in 191 cm.

    http://www.scottusa.com/category.php?UID=407 P4 page

Please provide a daytime phone number and I'll ask a customer service
rep to call you to discuss some options.

Sounds like a fair deal, too bad they aren't bringing the Pure back to NA but cheap P4's sound like a fair replacement assuming you were somewhat responsible for bending the SP's...

Wow, way to go Lance. That motherfucker is usually busy as balls, so I'm surprised you got that prompt of a response from him. I noticed in my dealings with Scott that it's better to email them then to try and call them and leave voicemails. I think they don't like talking to people and would rather email so they don't have to have any human interaction. So is the way of our society nowadays...

P.S., The P4 is a very cool ski. Never skied them before, and won't regurgitate any one else's review, but do a search here in the forums for more information. I saw a guy at Alta a few months ago riding the 07/08 P4's and he said he liked them...I think he said they hadn't changed too much between the seasons either, just a new graphic as far as he could tell (he just got there).

A buddy of mine has the P4s from 06/07 and swears by them. A fair replacement, and the price is going to be right. Plus, those sweet retro topsheets are Teh Bomb.
