    North Fork Lone Pine Creek

traversing the North face of Mt Whitney

(reaching the summit of the 48 states on skins is a bit unusual)

I love Montana! We can never be specific 'cause the hordes will rush in, right?

Anyways per your question Butterscotch: Eastern Beartooths outside of Red Lodge.

And by the looks of the snow pack its gonna be a smokey summer.

Thanks. I would have guessed the Beartooths.

And of course! Gotta keep the hordes out. Btw, the correct answer to my question was "Colorado".

Not super scenic, but I love skin tracks that start out straight, go into walk-arounds, then turn into a series of ever tightening kick turn switchbacks like this:

Probably not the most efficient way to get up Terminal Cancer, but after comfortably skinning the apron and bottom third of it, then eeking out the second third, it was a matter of principle to skin the entire thing - 400cm wide at 37 degrees for about 1,000' vertical. I wish I'd kept track of the switchbacks as there were probably 100+ of them.
